lacuesta. san francisco police say photos taken after the beta breakers race could help investigators find a person responsible for throwing a punch that killed a man. steve martin is shown just minutes before the incident that took his life. martin ran the event with a group that ran as trolls. a few moments earlier, the men were socializing with a group dressed as 49ers. he was taken off life support friday. now police need help identifying the people in the photos. >> we can't get enough photographs. everybody, anybody watching, everybody listening, error on the side of caution. if you think you have a picture that may be at all helpful please send it along. >> reporter: police say they don't know if the photos show

resident tai vu. vu was shot outside of the the kareoke bar. police arrested two people, lee of san jose and andy ho of union city. lee and jimmy ho were book on a murder charge. andy ho was booked under accessory to murder. violent crime increased in oakland by 5.8%, san francisco reported a smaller increase in property crimes 1.6%. violent crime in san francisco however dropped by 6.5%. a nonprofit group is challenging mayor jean quan's

most violent block. the city has said 90% of homicides and shootings take place on approximately 100 blocks. the director of the council says it cannot say the city is wrong because the city is not sharing its methodology or data. a protest through the streets of oakland, the proposed legislation these protesters are rallying against. party buses are being blamed for some problems. jana katsuyama is live at the san francisco library where a community meeting talked about possible solutions. >> reporter: it isn't just san francisco icons bringing people to the city, once the sun goes down, so called party buses roll into the town carrying passengers from bar to bar often serving drinks inside at every stop. club owners now say the buses are trouble, often carrying

new video tonight of a man hunt under way in west oakland. after a brief struggle a man took off with a cuff still on one wrist. it happened around 7:30 near 29th and market street. a highway patrol helicopter was called in to support officers working on the ground. so far they haven't found him. a woman is shot in the neck while driving down a major east bay freeway, interstate 80 in richmond. patti lee tells us this isn't the first time a driver has been shot on that same stretch of freeway. >> reporter: the sound of gunfire was captured by shot spotter technology. >> we received a call from california highway patrol regarding a shooting victim at the kaiser hospital in hayward. >> reporter: richmond departments say a 57-year-old newark woman was shot near the

authorities in colorado say they have found the remains of a person reported missing in an area burned by a major wildfire. the remains are identified as those of 62-year-old linda stedmond. stedmond got two emergency notifications to leave but stayed at home any way. the fire is still burning out of control and has burned more than 64 square miles in northern colorado. a proposed ban to crack
