extremely big behind. and see the trick shot video that inspired some emotional oversharing. >> i don't want to be a hater. if you've got hate in your heart, let it out. christian is going to get our show started with our top video and the story behind it. >> rally race in argentina, and the driver's seat is nicholas and his navigator. they're about 100 meters away from the finish line, but look at what happens next. >> oh! >> whoa. >> they're going at speeds of more than 60 miles per hour. he loses control of the car, and flies through the air and starts rolling down this ditch into a river. there's another angle of this accident from inside the ditch. >> he barely missed those people. if they were standing just a little to their left, holy smokes. >> he would have taken them out

too. >> the car is completely shattered. >> they're fine, right? >> they are fine. amazingly, they suffered only minor injuries. and they attribute this to their team that rigged the car enough to be able to protect them from such an impact. >> these rally cars are really just cages. a that body work the video, thr looks like something from a junkyard. >> it looks like a soda can that someone smashed to throw in the recycling bin. >> and they'll probably put that all back together and have it ready for the next stage in half a night. >> which blows my mind. >> don't you feel like all of our cars should have this kind of safety mechanism in it? like, i want to be able to roll my car into a ravine and walk out and say hey, that was fun. >> that stinks, though, that to be that close to the finish line and then you wreck like that? >> so close and yet so far. you guys recognize this now world-famous video of the cannibal attack? it was caught by the security

cameras at the "miami herald" the attack by 31-year-old rudy eugene on ronald pappo, a 65-year-old man. according to reports, about 80% of his face was eaten off during this attack. we have an update on this story. jackson memorial hospital, the hospital where pappo was receiving treatment was now released photos of him in his current condition. doctors held a press conference. >> we're here to talk today about mr. ronald pappo who you have all become familiar with in the last few weeks. >> this is pappo before the attack. now, let me warn you, these photos are difficult to see. they are graphic. >> wow. >> oh, my gosh. >> where are his eye sockets? >> one of his eyes was completely gouged out. the other guy was severely damaged. they're hoping to restore vision to the other eye. surgeons are saying he will require several more surgeries in order to correct the damage

that was done during this attack. >> i cannot believe that one man's mouth could do that to another man's face. >> his doctors and surgeons are saying he's been incredibly optimistic. he has been asking to listen to basketball games. he has been asking for orange juice, pizza, even italian food. and he hasn't complained of pain or any discomfort. >> this man was homeless at the time of the attack? >> yes, that's correct. homeless for 30 years. >> are the doctors doing it for free? >> he's eligible for medicare and medicaid. they've also been raising funds and so far they have raised more than $20,000. >> right now there's nice people around him, and there's meals and there's hope. it's log, it's big, heavy, wood and dumped in an east detroit neighborhood. neighbors on an east detroit

street noticed a guy come in with a flatbed truck and dump these logs in the middle of the street. the guy got in his truck and took off. the neighbors then called police and complained but he also called wxyz and their 7 action news team came out. the guy they wound up catching up with could be more offensive. >> it's illegal to leave the wood in the streets. >> you don't have to ask me, and i don't take no order from no woman, by the way. >> what. >> there is steam coming out of her ears. that's just the beginning of his rant. >> you were saying you were going back to -- >> yeah, i'm mr. clean-up. >> somebody said you called for them to clean up. >> it must have been a woman. i tell them to shut up. >> he's really offensive. >> they found him in court in an indecent exposure hearing. this couple claims he pulled his pants down in front of them. but he says he was picking up

trash. >> my mom bought me pants that were ten sizes too big for me so i put my belt on as far as it would go. then i went outside as a nice warren resident to keep my streets clean. >> he obviously hates women. he blames his indecent exposure charge on his mom. >> he's like a 12-year-old stuck in an old man's body and a neighbor from hell all wrapped up into one. >> both stories had to do with wood. >> he was exposing his wood and then dumping it. >> come on -- i was going to -- that was good. ding, ding, ding. and the fight is on at a junior hockey game between the boston raptors and a team called the tribe. everybody is in on it. it's hockey. >> it's not uncommon. >> not uncommon. and the refs, they kind of let this thing go. >> ref's just standing there. >> but one person in attendance not letting this fight go. >> get off him! get off him! >> it looks like apparently a

mom, maybe an aunt comes out there with purse and pink wind breaker out there to break this fight up. screaming, "get off of him". she is pointing her finger. >> get off him! >> that is the most embarrassing moment for a young hockey player, your mom coming out on the ice to break up your cool hockey fight. if it's your mom, what do you do? i mean, do you go over and maybe like say to all -- whose mom is that? you say i'm transferring schools. >> skate yourself into the penalty box. but ironically, once this woman comes out there on the ice, the attention is diverted to her, and the fight sort of stops. >> you love this mom. >> i think this is an awesome mom. she gets there and says you're not hurting my boy. that's what she decided. >> not her matters to get her

two brothers who are about to cross the street. and look at what happens to them next. >> what? >> whoa. >> a car came and struck one of the brothers, hitting him, and then propelling him into the air. >> he did a complete flip. >> yeah. >> the car just takes off, the other brother runs after the car, and you can see the brother that was hit, just starts rolling towards the curb. obviously in pain. >> that looks like it was on purpose. >> yeah. police are treating this as an assault with a deadly weapon. they do believe this was intentional. and it's hard to not agree with them. >> he gunned it. he hit the gas. it wasn't like he tried to avoid them at all. >> you can clearly see in the video, the car turns into the street and then kind of directly right at them and then takes off. >> the guy did suffer severe injuries. but they were nonlife threatening. and so he was released from the hospital. police are still looking for the driver of the hit and run car. they believe it's a mitsubishi

galant. >> they didn't recognize the car or driver? >> reports say the guys claimed to not know the driver of that car. an artist currently working in china was recently in the united states, and she wanted to make something to symbolize a recognizable american. check out what she did. >> i'm going to do a portrait of mark zuckerberg with books, and the portrait is going to be called facebook. >> now, when she starts cutting these books up, i'm trying to figure out what exactly is she doing. and these books, by the way, are a game of thrones, because she said they were as thick as she could find. right here you can see something coming into shape. >> no way. >> wow! >> how the heck does she know -- what? >> you notice she is not using a pen. she is just using a straight edge and a ruler.

>> architects work using grids, and she is probably using the books as a form of a grid, therefore, creating the different space on the grid of books. >> so there it is. almost looks like andrew jackson on the $20 bill. she used light and shadows to create the image of darkness, like she was using a pencil or a pen. >> she made a face out of books that i love -- i love everything about that. >> what a fun -- >> tell us how she did it. we have the artist "right this minute" via skype from shanghai, china. how long did it take? >> it took me about a week. and i spent about 45 -- four five hours over day. >> did you plot out his face and go back and cut? >> i spent another week designing it on the computer and figuring out how to do it. i had to calculate the dimensions of each book and sort of figure out which cuts go where on each book. and i didn't want to cut out the

pennsylvania. the police originally released this video because they wanted help identifying the suspect. philadelphia police saw this footage and they were like, we know who these guys are. so they showed up at the home of 46-year-old richard smoelda. turns out the other guy is his 22-year-old roommate, daniel kroezer. >> were they trying to sell it, scrap metal? >> that's right. once the police came to their residence, they immediately took them to the place where they had the five-piece furniture set stored under a tarp. and the plan was you sell this for pennies on the dollar for scrap metal. these guys are in police custody and they say felony charges. >> good. they should. ♪ of all these sports blunders, this one definitely has got to be up there on the list. 1986, world series, game six, bottom of the tenth, two outs. >> little roller up along first. behind the bag! here comes knight and the mets win it!

>> they eventually go on to win the world series. bill buckner becomes the ultimate ghost of boston red sox sports. we're in the middle of baseball season, so why not reenact this famous moment in baseball with a bunch of students in kenya? >> okay. >> now, this video may be a few years old, but it's trendsing big time now. apparently, this group of students, they wanted to reenact a famous moment in american sports. we see mookie wilson, who is being played by this guy here in the white shirt comes up to bat. >> with a tennis racket. . >> with a tennis racket. and probably a tennis ball. yeah. they had to improvise a little bit. hits a ground ball down the first baseline, ball goes through the legs, that scores. ray knight from the new york mets. the mets go on to win. you see these guys celebrate. the guys in orange, they're the red sox, you can see they're just defeated, man. they just don't know what to do.
