mind. >> i didn't know what to say. i was speechless. shock together city and to everybody in the class and i guess the school. >> reporter: it was just after midnight that it struck. the other driver, a 41-year-old michael harmon was on lakeville when his wife struck a ditch and swerved in to oncoming traffic and killed him. a witness said harmon looked in on the teen before leaving his truck and run running. >> he came down and was looking in there and for -- about we were there three to fine minutes and then i turned around and the guy was gone. >> reporter: we were there when harmon turned himself in. s classmates said this incident has taught them a life lesson. >> tomorrow wake up and someone else could be dead or a friend could be dead. makes you appreciate life and everybody have you.

a total of four acres of brush burned before crew was able to get the flames under control. no structures were threatened. the fire started about 5:00 and burn ed along sanford. a fire that dammed a home in haywood many appears to have been arson and the homeowner is expected. the fire was first reported around 5:30. firefighters say they found that six separate fires had been set. they found an empty can of lighter fluid. the homeowner was taken to a mental hospital. >> jerry hill is promoting legislation that would crack down on so-called party buses. those are the one that seven alcohol and provide rides to nightclubs. the democrat held a conference this morning to draw attention to the a bill. he said it closes a loophole that exempts the drivers certain rules, that like checking that everybody is
