mile just before the richmond san rafael bridge. the lanes then shift back at the toll plaza. the closures are necessary to do work. cara liu is live with what caltrans wants motorists to know. >> reporter: you can see it is moving very smoothly there's not much of it at this hour that is unlikely to be the case tomorrow. commuters crossing the richmond san rafael bridge tomorrow morning will likely see some delays. >> it definitely slows everything down. >> reporter: the delays could last up to three months. caltranss caltranss-- caltrans is diverting the eastbound side for about .25 stretch creating big headaches for drivers caught up in it. >> traffic we sat in probably 2

miles we took about an hour to go 2 miles. >> last night in particular coming back from marin about 2:00 it took two hours to get here instead of 25 minutes. >> reporter: caltrans expect delays of about 20 minutes. >> we have a traffic shift. we need to have people assert that 45-mile an hour speed limit. >> reporter: the western drive has also been shut down due to this construction and some big rig drivers will be forced to take a 9-mile detour. >> i like crossing the san rafael bridge, it was pretty easy to get across it and i've noticed now that they've narrowed three to four lanes down to three lanes and it crutches down the traffic and it takes a lot longer to get across that bridge. >> reporter: if you use the san rafael bridge, you will want to give yourself a little extra time tomorrow morning. a lot of folks will be seeing these changes for the very

police say the shooting happened this afternoon around 1:45 on international boulevard at 90th avenue. one person was pronounced dead at the scene. two witnesses who said they knew the victim told ktvu news he was just 16 years old and was standing on the street when he was approached by the gunman. one of the two people injured was in serious can be. the other person was shot in the leg. last night in oakland police responded to three separate shootings that sent three people to the hospital. one of the shootings happened at 7:00. when officers arrived they found two victims with gunshot wounds both were taken to the hospital. just 10 minutes later, shots were fired just a few blocks away injuring another man. a woman was hit by gunfire on 65th avenue. all the victims were in stable condition when they were taken to the hospital. and so far police have not made any arrests. oakland police are expected to announce a new plan tomorrow aimed at reducing dangerous

side show activity. now this comes after a side show early yesterday morning you're looking at video of it right now. it ended with a shooting that left three people wounded including a woman who remaining in critical condition tonight. it was just the latest in a series of side shows so far this year mostly in east oakland. san jose's police chief called an emergency meeting after a homicide yesterday that marked the sixth killing in just five weeks. the chief called in officers yesterday to discuss ways of curbing the violence. now this comes despite beefed up police patrols over the weekend as part of a crime crack down on friday. the mercury news reports faith leaders are calling for people to attend a vigil at city hall on thursday to honor the victims and families touched by violent crime. a late night birthday party in vallejo ended in gunfire and left two people dead. ken pritchett tells us police say the shooter walked up to a crowd celebrating a birthday.
