third in less than four days. a man was seriously injured near the broadway highway yesterday. other bikers came to express their sympathy today, ells friends say they want to know more about what happened. >> we told ourselves it could have been any one of us. >> reporter: investigators say 30-year-old angel soresano faces felony dui and possible vehicle manslaughter charges in this case. in oakland, eric rasmussen. more details now on motorcycle safety. the chp says motorcycle fatalities jumped 175% between 1998 and 2008. authorities say deaths did decrease in 2009 and 10 but crept back up again in 2011. a federal report showed that for the same per mile exposure, motorcyclists are 10 times more

likely to die than people in other vehicles. >> taking a look at mount diablo and boy what a different picture than a week ago when that fire erupted. a day after crews fully contained the 3,000-acre fire, mount diablo is set to reopen. firefighters remain on the scene looking for hot spots. a park spokesman said there's still a lot of work to do to repair pick anywhere areas, restrooms and forests destroyed by the fire. investigators believe target shooters sparked the fire. the california department of forestry says the fire burned more than 8,000 acres and destroyed 68 homes more than 100 other structures. one resident who authorities say refused to leave his home during the evacuation died in this fire. the cause is under investigation.

now to our continuing coverage of the devastating colorado floods. authorities there have raised the number of people missing or unaccounted for to almost 500. five people are confirmed dead. residents endured more rain that hampered nasty weather. with so many roads washed away and bridges submerged, air rescues are the only one out for at least 1,000 stranded residents. the sheriff says he knows his community will come back from this disaster. >> how can we ever recover from this. and i know exactly inch by inch, mile by mile, community by community they're taking this stuff back. they're doing it. people are getting those things done out there. >> president obama declared a major disaster for parts of colorado. the move allows some homeowners and business owners who are suffering from flood devastation to receive federal funds including low cost loans

b.a.r.t. and the union say they are still far apart on the main issues of wages, pensions and health care costs. dozens of oakland residents joined major jean quan through a walk of one of the city's most culturally diverse neighborhoods. mayor quan talked a bit about the history of the neighborhood. >> very much in my town we've known it as a hispanic community but it hasn't all the time. >> reporter: she plans to walk one of oakland's 57 neighborhoods every month. police in seattle went under cover tonight at the 49ers game against the seahawks in an effort to prevent fan violence. the officers wore 49ers jerseys to discourage any violence toward the visiting team. the seahawks also hired extra security and enlisted off duty officers to support opponents jerseys.

a car. he then mimicked shooting a gun at officers prompting the offers to open fire with real bullets. police say the man was unarmed. 50 years after the bombing of the 16th street birmingham church. that bombing killed four girls. the bell from the church sounded at the exact moment that the bomb went off on that faithful day back in 1963. the four girls, addie may collins, carol robinson maison and macnaire she was also killed. addie mae's sister was standing with the girls when the bomb went off. >> addie reached out and said the bomb went off.

well we are wrapping up the last full weekend of summer with some pretty nice temperatures out there. the clouds cleared out. but if you probably noticed the clouds have been increasing a bit. the low clouds over the last few hours near the coast and right around the bay. low clouds a factor. as we take a closer look. still a big factor out there. the mostly cloudy skies at sfo, oakland airport and hayward at last check. still cloud cover out there. current temperatures are still in the 60s. you can still see in san francisco, 62 degrees. san jose at 64. warmest locations in the upper 60s.

seahawks got on the scoreboard early in the second. it came on a safety as bruce miller was called for holding in his own end zone. that gave seattle a 2-0 lead and was the beginning of a night in which san francisco made numerous mistakes. the 49ers offense never really found the rhythm. and that led to a seahawks field goal and score of 5-0 at the half. lynch again a thorn in the 49ers side. that 14-yard run, seahawks with a 12-0 lead. 49ers hurt themselves with 12 penalties. just 12-3 with a seattle drive was giving life on that personal foul for smith. then when the 49ers came with a hit, lawson beat it. kaepernick threw for just 125
