what you learned, ken? >> reporter: gasia mikaelian we have learned from official confirmation that an arrest has been made in a series of arsons. what we can tell you is our own, robert honda, talked to sources saying an arrest has been made and this person was here at police headquarters tonight undergoing questioning. the location of the arrest at this time it is not known. we are told that the arrest took place sometime after 7:00 this evening. now, the police released this sketch, that sketch was released over the weekend. the sketch was put together from numerous surveillance systems from home security systems that showed a person walking near the fire scene and ktvu had exclusive view that we showed you yesterday of a man igniting one of 13 fires deemed intentionally set in the past week. all in the same neighborhood. all of the fires set early in

photos and say arrest warrants have been issued for the two. last friday's shooting seriously injured a person outside of the wendy's. anyone with information is asked to contact concord policism the man charged with kidnapping a 7-year-old girl entered a not guilty plea tonight even though he admitted he did it in a jail house interview earlier this month. 43-year-old david douglas agreed to delay his hearing date. the police say he kid tphapd a 7-year-old girl from her driveway after following the girl and her mother home from walmart. the girl was found hours later inside of his car at the marina. the man accused of starting a fire at the entrance of the chinese consulate in san francisco appeared in federal court today. 39-year-old fang gave up his trite have a bail hearing. charged with 1 count of arson for the fire on january 1st. the fbi says he told agents he

recording shows a firefighter apparently directing a truck around the victim. >> oh. >> 13 minutes later the attorneys say the same truck ran over her after she was covered in firefighting foam. the corner confirmed the teenager died with blunt injuries consistent with being run over. today an attorney for the girl's family told them the video answers the questions the family has waited months to hear. her parents now know five firefighters saw her before she was run over and that none of them checked her pulse or checked if she was breathing. now, this video could be used to support the family's claim filed against san francisco that first responders were negligent. >> it is a terrible accident. >> reporter: back to you. >> san francisco fire officials say the chief that is wearing the helmet camera was reprimanded for violating a policy banning recordings. the union leaders tell us it was never enforced until now.

now, back to our breaking news, we just received official confirmation that an arrest has been made now in connection to a series of arson fires in san jose this past week. ken pritchett is live with what he has been able to learn, can ken? >> reporter: frank, we reported this arrest to you at the top of the show at 10:00. based on sources within the department talking to ktvu robert hopbd a. we now have official confirmation from the san jose police department and the san jose fire department, both announcing this arrest. they say just after 8:00 tonight the san jose co vert response unit located and arrested an adult male suspect in connection with the arson fires. you are looking at home surveillance video right now take friend several cameras on homes showing a person of interest in these fires. and it will be interesting to see what roles the video play in this arrest at san jose police and fire announcing tonight. now, both ages say the
