chance they can. as we saw the action on monday, we saw the market way down and i think that somebody probably got a whiff that the fed would do something different. i think they stay the course and continue but the bottom line is that janet yellen has made it clear that she will back the market up anytime she needs to. >>are traders worried about the jobs number coming out on friday? >>i think traders may be thinking about the jobs number and what the reaction might be but really the now always comes back to the fed because the jobs we have seen over the past few months are not very good but still the market has managed to rally. >>the market is worried about this russia situation. are there any plays you're doing? are you shorting anything or buying anything? >>i'm looking to get short oil and the grain markets as soon as some of this trouble wears off. we're seeing a lot of fear premium, especially in oil. we are still in what we call backward ation oil so the front

"this could be the big breakthrough product that leads astrazeneca's oncology franchise." there are also considerable tax advantages for pfizer. for one, pfizer's headquarters could be listed in the u-k. "the significance of moving the hq to another country is to bring down their overall tax rate." conover thinks pfizer could cut its tax rate from 27% currently 20% or lower by moving its headquarters and intellectual property to the u-k, where the government has tax breaks for income generated through patents.

farmers are falling behind in spring planting...as cold, rainy weather soaks corn fields. the latest numbers from the government show the top 5 corn producing states: iowa, illinois, nebraska, minnesota and indiana are all struggling to get seeds in the ground. joining us now is scott shellady-- ceo of bull reef brokerage at tjm. good morning to you and thanks for joining us right from the trading floor.

>>thank you. glad to be here. >>how serious is this? >>we have a meteorological word for it. what we call the weather we've been having lately is called spring. it happens every year. you'd be surprised at what the american farmer can do with the new technology that we have. we can do a lot in a week's time. don't get too nervous yet. >>i have a new wordit's called sprinter. that's when winter never really seems to end. i know that farmers don't like to complain about rain, but how late can we go? when will it be too late? >>i'd start to get nervous around may 10th. i think that's when we'll really start to see some degredation in yields. it doesn't mean we still can't have a big crop but it starts to take the top off. we'll get the crop in. my father has been doing this since 1962 and he's got a great linename me a year where we didn't plant corn? so everybody should relax. we'll get it in. the american farmer
4:17 am
is great and with the technology and type of equipment we have nowadays we can do almost 35% of the total crop in a week or week and a half. >>i'm hearing that when farmers can't get the corn seeds in, they can plant soybeans. is that correct? >>that gets too much play i think. you make plans and you put the right fertilizers on your field for what you're going to be planting in your field so it's not that easy to just go and switch. people do switch. but it's not as easy as guys think it is. you've bought your seeds already too a lot of times. so there's a drop dead day where you're kind of committed and it's not that easy to switch around. i think ultimately we're going to have more corn acres and more bean acres this year. right now you're going to get more chatter about guys trying to switch but it's not as easy as folks think it is. >>thanks for coming on the show. this is a big relief and i hope all goes well for the farmers.

platforms are being used in ever more creative ways as the faa is considering regulations governing their use. in fact a field of study is also growing around uav's. let's talk with dr. luis cifuentes. he's the interim director of a & m university's new loanstar unmanned systems center in corpus christi. why don't you tick off some of the drone based careers that students can actually pursue now? >>there are going to be tremendous careers for our students. people that are in engineering and computer science and geospatial science are going to be able to take those skills and apply them to this new industry. there are also going to be those individuals that might go to a 2 year school and learn how to operate and maintain these systems. we certainly think of this as a third kitty hawk moment in aviation and we are preparing to teach our students and educate our students in order to be able to provide the workforce for that new industry.
4:23 am
>>what's exciting about your center is that it's not just on computers and theoreticalthey actually go out and use these drones in real world applications. >>absolutely. if you look behind me you'll see that we have our rs16 and we've been flying that south of corpus christi looking at the maritime environment of padre island, looking at seagrass growth, looking at algoe blooms, looking at oil spills. there are a variety of different applications that you can use with unmanned aircraft systems or drones. it depends on what kind of sensor you want to put into them. so there is a whole new budding research field of putting sensors onto these platforms that our students are going to be able to get into. >>aeronauticsthat's another component to this. so what is the demand for drone science degrees these days? >>just in texas, it is anticipated that in the next 10 years there are going to be 4,000 direct jobs and 8,000 direct and indirect jobs. a lot

of those jobs are going to be technical jobs. so all of those people are going to have to be trained in one of these fields in order to be able to meet the requirement. >>and that's just in one state. dr. cifuentesthank you so much. >>thank you. thanks bill! find out next if drones will be a saving grace for amazon as the stock continues to tumble... and-- are twitter's best days gone forever. why the stock is falling out favor with investors. chart talk is next. i'm going to pass chemistry, and i'll take it from there. i'm going to do what makes me happy. i'm going to work hard. be independent. live large. make the most of every opportunity. i knew i wanted to go to college. but figuring out how to pay for it? i didn't have a clue. the u.s. department of education has over $100 billion. and that's a lot of money.
