subsidies. stay with us. uh just gonna hang out. with gary and todd? yea. i've been meaning to ask you, is there any drinking going on in this crowd? no. so if any of your buddies ever pressure you to take a drink, just tell them you promised
5:44 pm
ok. i will. i hope this is working.
5:45 pm
they really do hear you. for tips on what to say visitderagedrinking.samhsa.govface-off.. where the right and left weigh in on the big subjects of the week. joining us today.. michael schaus.. communications director for the nevada py sestut >> welcome back. joining us today theht.n communications director for the policy research institute andm current executive director ofok. education today. adriana martinez from the left. both of you thanks for joining us. they decided to roll back suck cities to soler customers. s good idea or bad idea and the ramifications of that getting back to governor sandoval. >> a bad idea. it was the office of economic development that actually recruited soler city to come. and so now it is his own appointed public utilities commission said no.
5:46 pm
a travesty for our state. 2,000 jobs. talking jobs. jobs are important for the state of nevada. we are harvesting the sun, we want that renewable energy we are working so hard to inn tyce and here slapping them down and saying you're out. this is horrible for our state because we are sending everybody else a bad message we'll recruit you as the office of the economic development and go ahead and say we've decided we don't want you so you set up shop. you are out the door. >> i think so much of when it comes to subsidies a broader issue than soler or what have you. people shoo be able to play on the same level playing field. when you take industries and give subsidies or tax breaks or we call them incentives. essential when you're looking at these that distorts the market. basically creating a demand for
5:47 pm
able to survive on its own. there's incredible stuff going on when it comes to soler and wind and renewable energies but let them survive and advance on their own so they become competitive without the hand of handouts. >> and the same position with future. >> exactly. something that we were upset about when the entire tax abatements were proposed for farah day. those low taxes should apply to everybody. this is something we see small businesses struggling with higher taxes right now and working at special deals out to a billionaire from china. >> but the deal has been made. if the governor makes a deal and shakes your hand and can welcome to nevada you're open for business we are giving you incentives i would hope that they hold true to their word and says okay.
5:48 pm
made whatever the deal was we'll keep the promise that was made. >> depending on government mandouts. government can give you something, government can take it away. this is part of the overall philosophy behind the limited government. as you have a limited government and you're not playing favorites with industries there's nothing there for government to take away. everybody is going to be playing off the same field and help you plan out your future better long-term. >> out to donald trump talkingar about billy clinton's affairs. now he's using that with hilary so out of bounds or is that a fair topic? what i mean by that is hillary clinton did have a role in all the scandals. the way she handles herself and the situation these are things you can talk about. talking about bill clinton's
5:49 pm
but if you are talking about how hillary clinton handles the situations, in cob forecast to what she's saying today, recently any woman who accuses somebody of sexual assault should be believed. that certainly wasn't her attitude when people were accusing her husband of sexual assault. >> are you along the same lines? >> i think that donald trump bringing this point, look, this is something that's old news and he bringing that up is a distraction just like everything else that comes out of his mouth is a distraction. the other candidates but now he's targeting hillary clinton and going after her against jeb bush is out of the game now. that was his go-to guy, his punching bag per say and now a way to distract the true issues. so for instance it detracts from talking about economic development. detracts from talking about
5:50 pm
this is his way of distracting everybody saying look over here. talk about something other than the true issues that matter. >> and something, a little bit of truth to that especially running for president. nothing is off topic running for president. every piece of your life is put under the microscope so might not be out of bounds. that said other things we can be talking about right now? of course. >> before i let you go, quickly political story of 2016 what's the big story we'll see? >> the presidential election, obviously. the two front runners going after each other. it's going to be a long year. the political issue or story of 2015 because we are electing our new president. >> nationally speaking it's going to be donald trump whether he wins or loses. he's not going to be quiet and go back to his office in new york and go back to selling

let them know they're not alone. [phone ringing] man: hello kate: hi dad. that's the power of 1. ... one simple act can make all the difference. used against opponents in this campaign.. has been who is taking the most money for wall street. ndiat >> one of the main accusations in this campaign is who is
