this is the "cbs weekend news." >> quijano: good evening, i'm elaine quijano. this is the western edition of our broadcast. with the election nearly 11 weeks away, a new cbs battleground tracker poll shows hillary clinton now six points ahead of donald trump in ohio. a crucial state for his campaign. in battleground iowa, a new poll shows clinton and trump are tied. it's the only state in recent po have an outright lead. for more on this we turn to our elections director anthony salvanto in washington. anthony. >> reporter: in ohio one of the keys is that clinton continues to do better with democrats than donald trump does with republicans. so he has yet to shore up his base. in the bigger picture, ohio is indeed critical to donald trump's fortunes this year when you add it to an electoral map and look at all the states donald trump needs to win to get the presidency, right now all of them are leaning toward hillary
