the first was allowed to pass through the gate, but then a guard suddenly opened fire on the second vehicle and killing both americans inside. the americans in the third and fourth vehicles jumped out and started returning fire. the jordanian guard shot and killed one of them before he was wounded by the other. the jordanian officials blame the americans for failing to stop at the gate but the u.s. embassy in jordan say there is procedures. the fbi is leading the investigation, but, so far, has been unable to question the shooter because he is in a medically induced coma. david martin, cbs news, the pentagon. an arizona police officer caught on video punching a woman in the face has been put on administrative leave. >> hey! >> hey! >> hey, you can't hit a girl like that. >> officer jeff bonar says

he arrested morris believing she had an outstanding arrest warrant. >> he proceeded to tackle me and put me under arrest even though i did not have a warrant, and punched me in my face twice and choked me and proceeded to arrest me and twist my arm and just brutally attack me pretty much. >> police now say the warrants against morris were no longer acti. investigating. the first significant snow of the year is falling in the upper mississippi valley and northern plains, as arctic air moves down from canada. blizzard and winter storm warnings are posted from nebraska to michigan. the storm hit denver yesterday. 8 inches or more is expeted in some areas, causing major travel headaches. in minnesota, folks are preparing for the winter-like weather. blizzard conditions are expected there today. coming up on the "morning news."

stock exchange with that and more. good morning, jill. >> reporter: good morning. stocks on wall street moved higher, pushed by positive economic data and comments from fed chair janet yellen. testifying on capitol hill, yellen indicated the fed will raise interest rates at its meeting next month. she defended the interest rates enacted following the financial crisis. and plans to complete her term which ends in 2018. the dow gained 35 points yesterday. the s&p added ten. the nasdaq finished 39 points gh president-elect trump is taking credit for keeping a ford motor company plant in kentucky instead of it moving to mexico. but ford was never planning to close the entire u.s. plant, just shift one production line for its lincoln mkc. the americans working on that vehicle were going to work on a different ford model. last night, mr. trump tweeted, quote, i worked hard with bill ford to keep the lincoln plant

i owed it to the great state of kentucky. ford says it told trump it would cancel its plan to shift production of that single model. mortgage rates surged this week. the average for a 30-year fixed from 3.57% last week. a 15-year fixed rate climbed to 3.14% from 2.88%. the rate jump was powered by a sell-off in u.s. government bonds following the election. the home rental business airbnb wants to be a one-stop shop for travel. the company is adding local tours and other activities to its website. airbnb new guided activities including surfing lessons, cooking classes. even a truffle hunt. the company hopes to have those travel services available in 50 cities by next year. a truffle hunt? sign me up. >> wait! the chocolate or the mushrooms?

kenneth craig shows us how it happened and how to prevent it. >> joan enjoyed the convenience of shopping on amazon. >> it's real easy to have it brought directly to the door. >> reporter: that is until a person hacked into her amazon account and used her gift card balance as their own personal piggy bank. >> it's all out, you know, theft. it's my money. >> reporter: the criminal changed the phone number on her account and then ordered more than $1,500 in merchandise and had it sent to an out of ste she changed her password but the hacker kept getting in and placing order. >> he was placing orders to have sent to himself while i was on the phone with amazon and a supervisor. they are watching it take place. >> reporter: amazon would not comment how the hacker got into her account. this hacker was really relentless? >> yeah. they went beyond the normal scam. >> reporter: cyber security experts believe scammers most
