((shakala alvaranga)) >> christianne, the nevada supreme court has ordered an evidentiary hearing on several claims raised by kirstin lobato. because of new alibi's and new evidence, the supreme court is giving lobato the opportunity to once again prove her innocence. she says she's innocent. no physical evidence. no connection to the victim. so, what happened on july 8th, 2001? prosecutors say it was a drug deal gone bad. but stephen jackson, who worked with the lobato family for years, believes otherwise. "i believe wholeheartedly that they just got this one wrong and that a person who did not commit a murder in 2001 has been sitting in prison for it since then." kirsten lobato, a blonde lanky 18 an odd suspect in a heinous crime. 44 year old duran bailey was stabbed to death, his teeth knocked out, his skull cracked. more disturbing ...his genitals were cut off. prosecutors relied heavily on a statement lobato gave police. she said that a man tried to sexually assault her and she fought back. but, that happened in late may. "there are people out there who say there's no way she committed this crime because she talked

two months later. lobato was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter in 2006 -- sentenced up to 45 years in prison. but now, she has another chance. "it's also something that everyone has been asking for since her original conviction and that's a fair hearing in front of an impartial judge."
