in haech havana's revolution plaza today to pay their respects to fidel castro. in miami's little neighborhood the tone is marketedly different. hena daniels is here in new york. >> cubans are observing nine days of mourning and today after 9:00 a.m., tens of thousands are expected to gather in the streets of havana when simultaneous 21 gun salutes will sound off in the capital. meanwhile in miami, they are looking forward to better times in cuba. massive crowds are expected today at havana's revolution plaza to pay tribute to fidel castro. mourners will be allowed to sign a book of condolences and on tuesday, a public ceremony is planned in the square. the iron fisted former dictator had numerous critics brought but

admired him. victor thought he had lost a patriarch, the father of our family and our revolution. castro's ashes on a procession in the island before buried in the city of santiago. in miami's little havana where thousands of cuban exiles live more people are celebrating than grieving. many considered him a brutal dictator who took dream away from their families for ivan rodriguez's parents are from cuba. she is optimistic for the future. >> we are extremely curious. we love the culture and we fall in love with people without going there. >> cuba remains a communist nation under fidel's brother raul castro. cuban exiles in miami are planning a rally on monday to demand freedom and democratic reforms in cuba. schools and government offices are closed today. castro was cremated on saturday

sunday in santiago, the city where he launched the 1959 revolution, as cuba prepares to say their final good-byes. >> thank you, hena daniels in new york. following castro's death, president-elect donald trump described him as a brutal dictator. mr. trump's incoming chief of staff said the trump administration would absolutely reverse mr. obama's moves to normalize relations with cuba, unless there is some movement by the cuban government. >> repression, open markets, freedom of religion, political prisoners. these things need to change in order to have open and free relationships and that is what president-elect trump believes and that's where he is going to head. >> president obama opened some u.s. investments and traveled to cuba through an executive order. today, u.s. airlines launched regularly scheduled commercial flights to havana. coming up on "cbs this morning," charlie rose reporting from cuba on what castro's death

an effort to divide the city in two. the rapid advance follows weeks of russian and syrian air strikes. a bomb ka discovered today just yards from the u.s. embassy in the philippines. a street cleaner found the bomb in a trash bin near the embassy in manila and described as a cell phone attached to a cylinder like substance. police detonated the bomb. they called an improvised explosive device and no one was injured. one man was killed when two men opened fire in new orleans crowded french quarter. nine others were wounded by the gunfire early sunday morning. police are searching for the suspects. officials say none of the victims were targeted and the trouble began with an argument. >> they were not from new orleans but we will find them and we will go to the ends of the earth to make sure we bring them to justice. >> the suspects ran from the scene. two women and eight men were shot and four remain hospitalized with nonlife-threatening wounds.

opec meets this week in vienna. today, opec ministers will hold talk with nonopec members to discuss cuts in oil production. saudi arabia, opec's biggest producer, will not attend. on wall street, it was more record highs last week. the dow gained 299 points for the week. the s&p finished 48 points higher. the nasdaq gained 160 points. the number of thanksgiving weekend shoppers was up but they spent less. the national retail federation customers had shopped or planned to shopped thanksgiving weekend up from 150 million last year, but they spent 3.5 million less than last year, $280 on average and in large part because of widespread discounting and more people shopped online instead of in stores. the spike in cyber shopping bodes well for today, cyber monday. online retailers started posting
