historic north side home. those are two of the biggest decisions from last night's siououcity city council the council unanimously approved a contractcto do 2 point 2 milllln dollar repair to the police and fire headquarters building downtown. the building was only built in` the late 1980s... but it's had a lot of mold issues... plumbing and electrical problems... and foundational cracks. work on renovations to fix some building more energy efficient will start right away. city officials expect the project to take about a year and a half to finish. ththcouncil also agreed d spend 45 - thousand dollarartotudy e future developmentntf the city's riverfront... like where the argosy casino was docked. the consultant doing the study will come up with a master pla for chris larsen park and the surrounding area... which'll be submitted to the public to think about. mayor b scott says it's important the public has a say in the future of the riverfront.

"kids are given a lot sometimes. it's nice for them to see how they can be involved in their community and how they can give back to their community. even if they don't have a lot, there are ways you can give back." the sale will start back up this afternoon at 3 - 15 and run until 5 at lewis and clark elementary school in south sioux city. jake>> the state of iowa is offering a new workforce housing loan program for smaller towns that are growing fast. the program will give money to help build more rental housing because of local employment growth. the program has 5 - million dollars ready... in the form of low - cost... repayable loans to cities and counties.
