(sot john dickerson) can she weather a full days' worth of testimony in front of a committee that even some republicans have said is aiming to hurt her politically. if she can do that she will be on stable ground after what was a pretty shaky summer. the republican-led committee will try to find out why the u.s. chose to remain in benghazi despite the escalation in violence: (sot rep. trey gowdy/ benghazi committee chairman, r-sc) what i want to know is - while violence was going up in libya why was our security profile going down (standup weijia jiang/ cbs news/ washington, d.c.) clinton willlso face questions from lawmakers on whether she was aware of requests for additional security at the consulate where the attacks took place. clinton, who was secretary of state at the time, has already gone on the defensive during two previous testimonies: (sot clinton from may 2013) the factcts we had four dead americans. was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided they wanted to go kill some americans. what difference does it make? ahead of today's hearing -- democrats on the benghazi commmmtee released the transcript of the closed-door

cheryl mills. mills testified that clinton was devastated by the events and very engaged in her response.1 weijia jiang cbs news washington. jake>> hillary clinton is also expected to be asked about her *private* email server and the emails s sent the *night of* the benghazi attack. this committee is the eighth major investigation into the attacks. jake>> a supreme court ruling isis putting a financial crunch o o the sioux city school district... and it looks like local property taxpayers will have to make up the difference. the court's ruling basically means folks in sioux city who work out of the state have been illegally double - taxed... because they were forced to pay a surtax that susuorts siouxt city's public schools. that means the district could lose about 282 - thousand dollars. the district's chief financial officer says the *hit* isn't as bad as they thought. but they'll have to look at ways to replace thahamoney. "we e ll have to adjust eieier our property tax asking or the

amount of surtax that we levy to compensate. those are justments that we typically make annually anyway." sioux city is one of about 280 iowa districts impacted by the ruling. affected taxpayers can file for a refund on the past three years of state income taxes. the average refund is expected to be about 200 dollars. jake>> two women are in jail... and a man is on the run after a car chase in downtown sioux city wednesday night. the chase started at 18th and virginia streets... ended at 6th and main street. police arrested 38 - year - - d trtrha (flewt) flute of south sisix city... and 39 - year - old irene lasley of siouxity. they say flute was driving... she's charged with aggravated eluding and reckless driving... along with quite a few traffic violations. lasley was arrested on outstanding g rrants. police are ao looking for a

who ran from the car. if you have any information... please call sioux city police. jake>> three members of a storm lake family are in jail... after drug probes inintah and storm lake. 49 - year - old abel medina rios... his 28 - year - old daughter raquel... and 26 - year - old son abel... were arrested after a traffic stop by the utah highway patrol monday. they found about 55 pounds of marijuana and a loaded handgun in their c c. the arrests led storm lake police to search a home at 210 highway street... the el tapatio mexican restaurant... and the princess palace clothing store. storm lake police say they found two guns and some marijuana... crystal meth... and cash. all three are facing drug possession charges in the case. jake>> a sioux city teenager is pleading *not* guilty to setting a fire that destroyed a trash bin and damaged a business. 18 - year - old- jeremiah (ver - beski) verbeskskentered that written plea to charges of

criminal mischief. those charges are in connection with a dumpster fire at the hamilton boulevard dollar tree store earlier this month. police say (ver - beski) verbeski lit a pine cone on fire and threw it in the dumpster... destroying that dumpster and doing 5 - thousand dollars in damage to the store. his trial is set to start december 15th. jake>> south sioux city held its third annual national bioenergy day yesterday at the scenic park campground. a new wood - fired heat and electrical generating unit was being shown off. this is the first of its kind in nebraska to produce electricity from wood fuel. this system will use any tree waste or debris... using g as a renewable source of e ergy. "this is gasifying wood which is a different process than just burning it, but it produces heat and then also a gas which is then used to run a generator. this is the first system of it's kind in nebraska to produce electricity from wood. the 50 kilowatt generator will

use about 900 tons of wood debris... mostly coming from tree trimmings... community cleanups... and diseased ash trees that have to come down soon. a single genereror will be able to operate about five households. jake>> every month morningside college and siouxland news are teaming up to highlight a high school student who has gone above and beyond. our own siouxland news reporter jaclyn driscoll introduce us to e student we're hononong this month. taylor. jake>> it's crime that shocked a community and a state... now there's been an arrest. this morning... a new mexico man is facing quite a few charges... even murder... after the road rage death of a 4 - year - old girl. reporter don champion says police say tips led them to the supposed gunman. (thu0051 :41) tips f fm the public led to the ararst of 32-year-old tony torrez. investigators say torrez and lilly's father exchanged words on this albuquerque highway tuesday afternoon during a road rage incident. at some point, torrez allegedly opened fire on the pickup the garcia family was riding in. lilly, who was seated in the backseat, was hit in the head. a passerby called police for

the community of martinsburg is trying to replace the equipment at the playground in town. the equipment came from a school that was closed in 1985. city special needs camp. jake>> they were trying to set a world record yesterday at northwest iowa community college in sheldon. as part of the college's homecoming celebration... called "days of thunder"... students... faculty... staff... family members... and friends s me together to try and break the guinness book of world records for the longest line of selfies. there was an official "phone"... the selfie needed to be taken no more than 60 seconds apart... and each person could take up two selfies. illegally double - taxed... because they were forced to pay a surtax that supports sioux city's public schos. that means the district could lose about 282 - thousand dollars. the district's chief financial officer says the *hit* isn't as bad as they thought. but they'll have to look at ways to replace that money. "we will have to adjust either our property tax asking or the amount of surtax that we levy to compensate. those are adjustments that we typically make annually anyway." sioux city is one of about 280 iowa districts impacted by the ruling. affected taxpayers can file for a refund on the past three years of state income taxes. the average refund is expected to be about 200 dollars. jake>> two women are in jail... and a man is on the run after a car chase in downtown sioux city wednesday night. the chase started at 18th and virginia streets...
