from her desk has been fired. deputy ben fields was working as a school resource officer when he was called to deal l th a girl who refusus to put away her cell phone. he tossed her out of her desk. the sheriff said the student needs to be held accountable, but that fields' actions were unacceptable. >> what she did doesn't justify what our deputy did. i don't want anybody to think that. it doesn't justify his actions. >> civil rights groups are applauding fields' swift dismissal. his lawyer says fields' actions were justified and lawful. investigators are trying to figure out how a blimp traveled 150 miles before coming down. the blimp escaped from maryland's aberdeen proofing ground and floated 3 1/2 miles later and landed near muncy,

hena daniels is in muncy. >> reporter: police have set up a perimeter as they try to keep people away from this billion dollar militity blimp. this, as the pentagon begins their r n investigation on how this unmanned air ship managed to break free and float away. federal and state officials are in northeast pennsylvania, guarding the remnants of a massive army surveillance blimp that broke free and crash-landed wednesday afternoon. matt lepke was at a gas station in the area as the drama unfolded. >> it was like the white blimp of death. it was right over top of me and it looked like you could reach out and touch the blimp. it's going down! >> reporter: the unmanned aircraft attached from its mooring in aberdeen, maryland. f-16s, along with curious residents, chased the run away blimp down to its final resting place over a hundred miles away. >> nothing like this happens around here. itit a rural area, so it's pretty a asome. >> reporter: thousands were left in the dark here in muncy as the blimp knocked down power lines along the way. officials say they are not out of the woods yet.

contribute to the premature death to 60 people in the u uted states alone. that is according to researchers at m.i.t. and harvard. volkswagen lost 2 million. stocks finished higher on wall street after the federal reserve board indicated it's considering raising interest rates in december. the fed wrapped up a two-day meeting yesterday. the dow gained nearly 200 points, s&p finished 24 points higher, and nasdaq jumped 65 points. two drugmakers are thinking about joining forces. it would be the biggest merger in ththhealth care industry this year. pfizer and allergen are in the early stage of merger talks. pfizer is known for lipitor and viagra and allergen makes botox and it merged with activists earlier this year. talks are in process to acquire starwood hotels and a deal would create one of the largest lodging chains in the world.
