"to understand el nino, you have to understand all 3 phases of enso-el nino southern oscillation. with these 3 phases you have el nino, la nina, and neutral conditions." in the air way." this causes disruptions in a person's sleep.some compmpints and signs of sleep apnea are snororg, pauses in breathing and chronic daytime sleepiness. some s stle signs might also be fatigue and irritability. sleep apnea can be caused by a narrowed air way, a large protruding tongue, a thicker neck, but.. "the biggest contributor to sleep apnea is probably obesity." if your doctor is worried that you might have sleep apnea, you will take a sleep study test. like the ones they perform at the mercy sleep lab. "we have a person come in, we hook them up to a bunch of different monitors, literally monitor them from head to toe. "they look at brain waves to see what stage of sleep the person is in. they monitor nose and mouth breathing along with how the chest and abdomen move for airflow. they measure the heart rate for any irregularities. they also monitor the legs for any movement. once a person is diagnosed with sleep apnea, the most common treatment is a cpap. "cpap stands for continuous positive airway pressure."this is a mask hooked up to a machine that keeps the blocked airway open at night. if sleep apnea goes undiagnosed, the patient is more likely to have a heart attack, stroke, or diabetes.
