swing. christmas at the homestead is celebrating it's 11th year at the adam's nature preserve... just southwest of mccook lake in north sioux city. the adams family invited everyone to come out to the free event and learn a lot about cultural history... while enjoying some tasty goodies. 3 "we wanted people to come out to adams homestead and take a step back in time and get in that holiday spirit. so we have all of our homestead site buildings decorated for the christmas season."all of the homestead buildings will be decorated for the christmas season. 3 it's not just human boys and girls that get excited to meet santa this time of year.the siouxland humane society held its annual paws and claus fundraising events saturday at the former knoepfler auto outlet building on singing hills boulevard. the humane society says the pictures are perfect for use in your holiday cards. 3 "all the funds raised support the animals, and we are a non-profit with no funding coming in. // we serve three thousand homeless animals a year so all that money helps

"when i was a teenager, you know, probably '67 or '68."and that's right around the time bill got his dream job."if you'd get it nice and smoothly, no one would ever know there was a change-over." when he was 13 he got a job as a projectionist in his local theater."i did it so many times i could probably thread it with my eyes closed."that local theaterwas herethis is that building.the main studio used to be where you'd sit and watch movies."this works out pretty good as a studio because it's nice and big and has a high ceiling."the theater closed in '85.bill bought the building three years agobut there was a time when he didn't know if he'd ever get a chance to be back here.that's why he started *building* at home."i got the

everythign by hand. a lot of what i do is with hand tools." gil's passion is music. he started picking in high school 8:29:58 "the first time i ever heard an irish bouzouki i just fell in love with the tonethen started building. and just decided i'm goign to make one, so i did."this is the beginning stages of making a guitar. the pieces are precisely cut, perfectly measured, expertly pieced together. one guitar takes roughly 150 hours to create. but with so much time put into one instrument, full time carpentry wasn't what gil thought his life would be. 8:22:24 "i got laid off from my job and i just thought it would be a really good opportunity to go ahead and start doing this full time, which has been my dream and my goal ever since i started doing it."he now works out of his basement. countless hours are spent meticulously perfecting every angle, every scrape, every trim. 8:23:25 "you have to get taught thickness, back thickness down

specific tests exactly the same in controled environments. ford is putting in $1 million dollars to the m-city. and you know what m- city has that you can't get with testing in california? harsh winter weather. that'll be the hardest test yet.well, back to other things google is working on, the tech giant 3 is trying to make email more secure for everyone. if you have gmail, and someononsends you an email over an unencrypted connection, you'll get a warning that it could be risky to open it. these warnings will start in the coming months. the hope is that this will encourage more email providers to use proper encryption security, which prevents snooping from attackers and government agencies that are trying to tap into messages as they travel to you. and for those of you that prefer the disappearing messages of snapchat, the app just launched something called a lens store, where you can pay 99-cents for a funky photo filter and keep it forever. snapchat started filters recently, you just press on your face when you're taking a selfie, and you can choose from seven free ones, which put floating things around you or change your environment. evererne loved the puking snapchat will always have some for free, but they may be for a limited time. so if you want to keep one forever, you'll have to spend a buck in the lense store to keep it. snapchat says these lens
