dalton hardly ever slows down. when his family recently moved into a new home, mom jen bought some products to keep christopher safe.31:59 jen - i'm pretty sure i've done the basics. but we some experts bodyguards to show us hidden dangers, and what's a waste of parents' money.35:01 dylan - our main concern are things that will send a child to the emergency room. a major children's hospital study shows the right babyproofing can reduce children's visits to the er by 70 percent.34:06 dylan - they're heavy, they have lights and sounds. start with big items like tv's that can fall over, or dressers and shelf units that look like ladders to a child. 45:20 jen - you can already tell when you touch that, it's a little wobbly.45:11 dylan- we recommend anchoring it to the wall. jen's already padded some sharp edges around her house, but she found out some of the outlet covers

38:09 dylan- that's the kind we always recommend against because if he does get that out, it's the perfect size to be a choking hazard. dylan likes sliding covers better.. and for stairs.. always a gate that's mounted to the wall to prevent babies from falling. he's seeing a dangerous trend from pinterest in a lot of homes - decorative barriers that won't keep a child safe. 52:23 essentially just tying some cloth at the bottom of your stairs.52:31 it really provides no security at all. but you don't have to buy a product for everything. for example - toilet locks. dylan recommends door knob covers to just keep babies out of the bathroom, and keep adults from getting frustrated.super sheila gray16:55 be wary of products that teach your child something is safe, like an oven lock or guard that goes around the top. other homes don't have them. instead, work on your child's behavior. teach kids what's safe and what's not in the kitchen instead, and put latches on cabinets and drawers like jen did. and when it's time for holiday parties and family get- togethers, use a verbal hand- off system for little ones. 59:22 so take shifts of 20-30 minutes where you're specifically watching the child and at a pre-designated time, verbally say 'alright, you're watching the child

3 almost 30 years ago... pixar introduced us to its signature desk lamps and bouncing balls... in its first animated movie... called "luxo junior." this week marks 20 years since pixar animation studios released its first *feature* movie... toy story. when it premiered... critics praised the advance in computer - generated entertainment. c - b - s news correspondent john blackstone visited pixar's bay area campus... to meet the minds behind the studio's biggest movies. 3 ctm script:(nats) "i'm buzz lightyear, i come in peace." when buzz, woody and the gang from toy story were first brought to life 20 years ago, they seemed more realistic than anything previously created in an animated movie.
