3 "this has been a long journey, i've been working on the bryant project since i came to the district in 2008, and bryant has been a challenge mostly because it's very difficult to find land where we are going to build the replacement school for bryant."the new school is expected to open in 20 - 19. students going to bryant elementary right now will be split up between surrounding schools until construction is finished. 3 3 the group dedicated to improving downtown sioux city is trying to improve and protect trees along the city's streets now. the trunks of most trees in the downtown are surrounded by metal grates... which are expensive to replace. downtown partners is trying out a new system that surrounds the trees with a porous... rubber - like substance. 3 "the cost is very minimal so really we figured lets test this area, see how it works for sioux city in the winter. see how things go and if we like it, we'll keep spreading

"i think i got an email on this particular meeting, but all the council was copied so i assumed

assumption on my part. when i found out there was a concern that i wasn't there, i texted the chief to let him know i was in another meeting." but sheriff dave drew says it's *the state* that we should be looking to for assistance.
