3 (pkg) (handout cuyahoga county prosecutor) the grand jury will go over this enhanced surveillance video released by prosecutors over the weekend. frame by frame...it breaks down the final moments of 12- year-old tamir rice's life...including the instant he was shot by rookie cleveland officer timothy loehmann...two seconds after he got out of his police car. (sot zoe salzman/rice family attorney) we see tamir's arm and shoulder lifting upwards, and it's unclear whether that's in reaction to one of the shots that missed him or to the shot that struck him in the stomach and in the very next frame, tamir is doubled over and clearly by that time has been shot the shooting happened last november as loehmann, and his partner were responding to a 9-1-1 call about an armed man. the gun in question looked like a real firearmbut was a pellet gun. today - grand jurors who've been hearing testimony for five weeks- will hear from tamir's mother.(sot samaria rice/ tamir rice's mother file) it gives me strength to know that i have all of you guys to uplift me, to pray for me expertsor the prosecutionon maintain the use of force was justified...because the officers had no way of knowing the gun might have been fake. rice's family wants their own experts to testify and dispute those claims. the two officers involved are expected to

3 a new exhibit opened this wewe at thehesioux city public museum. this new exhibit shows off some of the upscale department stores that were famous in sioux city's history... back in the '60's. going back to a time when "window shopping" was very popular. this exhibit fits in just right with this holiday season. the exhibit runs from now until march. a man is fouou dead afterer trying to break into a house in huron south dakota... through a chimney. the homeowner found out someone was stuck in chimney when he tried to light a fire. 3 even crews we spoke with today say that they were stunned at break into a home got stuck in his life.it all started on a cold afternoon, when the owner of this home in huron, tried to start a fire..."he had tried to light a fire in his fireplace and he for help in the chimney"the man inside the chimney had apparently tried to break into the home.the house filled with smoke, while the owner tried homeowner was gone yesterday, and returned home today."don't have any idea how long he had been in their, the home owner noticed some of his stuff had been rumaged through, he thinks the guy did

3 students at west middle school are in the holiday spirit now.the 6th through 8t8tgrade computer programming students have built a light display that's synced up to music. it's on the outside of the school building! this year's "light up the night" project uses more than 81 - thousand lights... and 20 *miles* of wire. the lights flash in time to music from the "star wars" theme to "don't stop believin'" by journey. 3 "last year we had a lot simpler network put iiplace. we had seventy-thousand lights last year, now we're up to a little more than eighty- thousand and we changed the network so it's a little harder to program because the kids wanted it to be a little more challenging.""we're programming it for technology and it's the light show. we're doing it for thanksgiving thru christmas, well, kind of around christmas. it's a different way to program

"never heard of box-stuffing, but that's like another level i guess of stealing, that's crazy." witherspoon entered the wheaton costco --- where he grabbed a box holding a child's car seat. he then emptied the box --- and then went shoppppg --- stocking it with items like speakers --- computer hard drives --- and digital cameras.s.e then went so far as placing pillows in the box to muffle thsound of the stolen items inside. and the costco cashier was none-the-wiser. "and the total value of $11,093& oh my gosh that's somebody's wage and then some." when costco managers found the abandoned car seat, they reviewed store security video and called police. pawn records showed witherspoon sold much of his loot at best pawn in silver spring. "wow that's amazing, that's strategic." witherspoon had been living in this northwest recovery home. we've concealed the identity of the man who answered the front door. 3 good morning, (norfolk)... it's (33 degrees) outside at (time)... as we take a look from our (square tire) camera. 3 you can call it an unlikely friendship... and it added another chapter when a pair of young brothers met back up with a world war two veteran who served on a battleship those boys have become enamored with. reporter steve hartman takes us "on the

road" with this story. 3 it all began here in raleigh, north carolina with a flurry of plastic bombshells. nat playing battleshipa few years ago, 11 year old twins -- carter and jack hanson-- got really into the game battleship. that got them interested and naval warfare in general which eventually led to a family vacation to see the yorktown - a retired aircraft cacaier in charleston, south carolina. bite carter "my mind was just blown - like blew (explosion sound)!"the kids say the yorktown changed their lives. bite carter "i just realized how amazing history can be." and it was about to get even better. on that same trip the boys learned about a world war 2 vet named robert harding who actually served on yorktown. they got his email address, started corresponding daily, and became really enamored.the boys keep his pipiure by their beds and if you ever go to the yorktown with them, as we did, they'll chew your ear off about mr. harding and what he did onboard as plane handler. nat jack "when the plane is ready to launch he would go unstrap this and the plane would go flying that direction."the folks who run the yorktown say a lot of kids love the ship, but no kid has

3 early numbers show thanksgiving holiday shopping sales were off to a good start.sales tracker (uh - doe - bee) adobe estimates more than one billion dollars was spent online thursday. up 22 percent from last thanksgiving. (uh - doe - bee) adobe says more than a quarter of those sales came from mobile devices. another firm... channel - advisor... says sales at amazon were up 30 percent from a year ago as of midday thanksgiving day. a number of stores also opened their doors on thanksgiving for holiday shoppers... like target... walmart... macy's... best buy... and kohl's. 3 saturday was small business saturday... an annual event started six years ago as an alternative to black friday and cyber monday. here in sioux city quite a few local shops were part of this.some people call it "the day we all shop small." small business saturday is a nationally recognized day encouraging communities to support local businesses.
