3 the couple says their new organization... the chan zuckerberg initiative... will manage the money they donate to charity. the initiative will focus on "learning, curing diseaeae, connecting people, and building stronger communities." 3 the future of sioux city's public pools is one step closer to being set in stone now. city officials are putting the final touches on their master plan for five pools.the city's pools committee presented a proposed final draft strategy at a public meeting downtown last night. the plan will replace leeds and cook pools with splash pads for the 20 - 17 swim season... and build

re - open today at noon. it might be closed breifly again later this week for an inspection... and there's going to be some more landscaping work there this spring. 3 the e odbury county board of supervisors is facing a abigger insurance bill for 20 - 16.right now wellmark manages health insurance for county employees... and with no other options... that company will keep managing the program. the county didn't get any other bids for coverage... so it'll have to pay wellmark's increased premium. so far... the supervisors don't know how prescription benefits will be administered. 3 "if we go to the specialty purchasing of drugs, which means we're e rced into several providers that are only in sioux city, the little guys out there in the county are going to be out. that really is the last thing we should be @doing to the small towns." 3 the number of county employees

3 defense secretary ash carter told congress the united states will get more involved in the war against isis by deploying more special operations forces. c - b - s news correspondent david martin is at the pentagon. 3 narr (gfx in) about 200 u.s. special operations forces will be based in the northern iraqi city of erbil from where they will launch raids against isis in both iraq and syria. (gfx out) testifying before the house armed service committee, dedense secretary carter revealed plans for what he called a "targeting force." sot carter: :07:45 this is an important capability because it takes advantage of what we're good at . . . and it puts everybody on notice in syria that you don't know at night who is going to be coming in the window.narr until now american commando raids against isis have been few and far between -- two in the past seven months. both times, the commandos were brought in to conduct the raid and sent home when it was completed. 3 some siouxland businesses are being honored for helping first responders who answered the call on 9 - eleven.yesterday... fashion floors carpet one in sioux city got a visit from a veteran new york city firefighter who was at ground zero that day. he delivered a shadow box with a piece of steel from the world trade center. he's says it's'so say "thanks" for the fundraising carpet one has done for the stephen (sill - er) siller "tunnel to towers foundation." the foundation has a program that builds hi - tech smart homes for service members who've suffered catastrophic injuries. 3 "when this became available it was a no brainer to me. to just be a part of it was spectacular and to never forget those folks s o were tramatically injured and to be able to do something for them." 3 this morning breen will present a similar award to dan (cry) kraii of (cry) kraii furniture in orange city...

of the program as well. 3 sioux city fire rescue has determined the cause of a house fifi in morningside over the weekend.the fire broke out just before 9 o'clock sunday night in the 15 - hundred block of south patterson street. firefighters responded to find a small fire in the attic of the home. the fire was contained to a small area of insulation in the attic. investigators have determined it was caused by a faulty electrical wire. no one inside the house... or any firefighters... wewe hurt. 3 and an improperly used extension cord is blamed for a *monday* morning fire in sioux city that forced a family of 11 to flee with only the clothes on their back. our own siouxland news reporter (yet - ska) jetske (wah - ron) wauran spoke with the mother of that family... to find out what they need the most. 3 just a over r y after a fire broke out at their home...the cortez family,y,is trying to make the most of what they have now."we all smelled like smoke, the babies did too so we washed our clothes. what we could grab."it all happened here, when a fire broke out in the 400th block of market
