dangerous flooding event." missouri governor jay nixon called in the national guard -- as the state grapples with deadly flooding. volunteers throughout saint louis worked late tuesday night, laying out sandbags. the situation was dire at this water treatment plant in the town of high ridge. its reserves only contain enough water for up to four days. city.the arrests are part of the sioux falls police department's campaign n against huhun trafficking... and a lot of times officece use online ads for prostitution as a way to try and find women being trafficked for sex. 3 iowa's state auditor says the city council in the woodbury county town of hornick failed to catch more than 100 - thousand dollars in improper spending by two of the city's clerks.yesterday the state auditor's office released a report saying the clerk from 2001 to 2009 improperly spent more than 5 - thousand dollars... and improperly documented payments to herself of more than 11 - thousand dollars. the clerk after her... who served from 2009 to 2012... improperly spent at least 42 - hundred dollars and failededo properly document more than 47 - thousand dollars in payments to the city's mayor and council members. no charges have been filed against either former clerk... but prosecutors and the iowa

investigations both received copies of the report. 3 a three - month investigation into a september car accident in rural plymouth county has a cherokee iowa woman behind bars this morning.the iowa state patrol investigated the crash on september 9th... three people were sent to mercy medical center in sioux city with serious injuries.now... police say the driver of one of the vehicles intentionally drove her s - u - v into the path of the other car. melissa ebert of cherokee was arrested yesterdadaand charged with two counts of attempted murder... two counts of serious injury by motor vehicle... and o - w - i second offense. she's been booked into the plymouth county jail in le mars. 3 police in sioux city are looking for two people believed to be involved with a *car theft* on the near northside last month.take a look at these surveillance pictures from the kum and go store at 14th and pierce... you can see the two people police want to find here. if you know who these two people are... call

is 2 - 5 - 8 - tips. 3 a sioux center man will spend the next two years in prison and the rest of his life on the sex offender registry after accepting a plea agreement.43 - year - old danny barnes agreed to plea guilty to assault with intent to commit sex abuse tuesday in exchange for the 2 - year - sentence.after his release... he'll spend 10 years on probation and be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.he was arrested in october and charged with sexually assaulting a 14 - year - old girl in a sioux center park back in august. 3 the two sioux city brothers convicted last year in federal court of assaulting two drug dealers have had their sentences upheld on appeal.the 8th circuit court of appeals says the life sentence given to jamal dean and the 30 - year - sentence given to his brother levon dean junior were proper and appropriate. the judges rejected the brothers' request for a new trial in the case.

traveling from south sioux city to sioux city in april 20 - 13 to assault and rob two drug dealers. 3 burned breakfast is to blame for some terryfing moments in sloan yesterday morning... as two people had to jump from their apartment complex window to escape a fire. our own siouxland news reporter (yet - ska) jetske (wah - ron) wauran show's us what's being done to help those affected by the fire. 3 15 people are without a home after that firbroke out atat the prairie apartments right behind. and the sloan fire chief tells, the cause of the fire: unattended cooking materials.(richard moore, pastor at evangelical covenant church): "we saw flames coming out of the second story apartments."firefighters battled the blaze that broke out at this apartment building, shortly before 10 am tuesday, in the 300th block of buckley street in sloan.'slsln fire chief, lee blanchard:"it pretty much spread throughout the entire attic portion of the building."a woodbury

first on the scene, to find smoke and flames, at the two-story apartment.officials say the deputy helped the two occupants of the apartment buildingboth occupants jumped from the second floor window, trtrng to escape the flameses"i saw a couple of the residents that had jumped out of the second floor."they were loaded and sent off to mercy medical center as soon as our ambulance arrived on scene." woodbury county sheriff's office, sloan, hornick, salix, sergeant bluff, whiting and moville fire departments, as well as woodbury county emergency services and emergency services were all onon scene.and across the street, the evevgelical covenant church opened its door, teaming up with the american red cross, providing food and shelter to the community, and firefighters as well.have the church ready for people to come in, go get blankets, go whatever clothes we could and have folks come in."now the church is teaming up with a local retail shop. it's called kiki's closet, where they will be providing all sorts of donations, clothes, blankets and so forth, for the families affected by this fire.

wauran, siouxland news. 3 a 50 -foot - humpback whale splashing around monday is big news in the nation's smallest state.rhode island harbor master ed hughes said he heard a colossal splash in (nar - uh - gan - set) narragansett bay when he was making his rounds monday morning. the bay stretches about 25 miles from the atlantic ocean north toward providence... the capital city. hughes said the whale was about halfway up when he saw it splashing around for about 45 minutes.humpbacks aren't supposed to be lingering around there this time of year. like many new englanders... the humpback heads for warmer climates once the mercury begins to drop every year. 3 3 3
