3 for five and a half months cbs news followed a group of high school dropouts through a unique program run by the national guard. it's called challenge academies. it's been a year since we saw them graduate from the program and restart their lives. its only now that the program is evaluated as a success, so michelle miller went back and check in on a 3 few of them. 3 (opening nat: shark attack) alot has changed for 18-year old adjekai stewart since we first met her in july 20-14 at sunburst youth challenge academy.(nat - shark attack) she ana 200 other rebellious, unfocused high school drop outs were getting a wake-up

3 despite fears of terrorism, people rang in the new year around the world with fireworks and celebrations. one of the largest was in new york city's times square, where about a million people gathered to watch the giant crystal ball drop without incident. but security was heavy. at least 6-thousand heavily armed police officers protected the crowd.police in munich, germany cleared two train stations on new year's eve after they say they received a "serious, imminent threat.". officials warned of possible suicide bombers and said isis was behind the threat.and, at least 14 people were hurt when a luxury hotel became engulfed in flames in dubai. the 63-story hotel and apartment building near the world's tallest skyscraper caught fire about two hours before midnight. despite the fire, dubai still celebrated 2016 with a massive fireworks show. 3 and be sure to check out siouxland news dot com all day at work and home for the
