recent gun violence, president obama used executive action to impose new restrictions on gun control. those restrictions: a 10 point plan, including requiring dealers who sell firearms on the internet and at gun shows to be licensed and conduct background checks. "anytime you buy a gun online, it is already legally mandated to go to a dealer."according to the national rifle association, gun laws in the tri-state area- iowa, nebraska and south dakota- "regulate" the sale, possession, and use of firearms and ammunition. president obama insists he is within his constitutional right to take the e tion bringing about more backgrouou checks."you can go online today and buy a gun, it's still going to come to me as a dealer first and we're still going to run the same background check you would do if you bought the gun here in store."iowa republican senator rick bertrand says the second amendment is a bipartisan issue. "both republicans and democrats that support the second amendment can agree that president obama is overreached."president obama also wants to hire more than

marijuana... and hydrocodone pills in an unmarked bottle.smith is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm... possession with intent to deliver marijuana... and posession of a controlled substance. 3 a gas line break meant a few businesses in downtown sioux city had to be evacuated yesterday afternoon.construction crews working near the intersection of 5th and nebraska accidentally hit a one and a half inch gas line just after one o'clock yesterday afternoon. rescue crews evacuated a few businesses because they could smell gas. 3 "just for precautions we've had our monitors in the area reading.. looking for higher levels of natural gas and we have evacuated some ofthe buildings here and secured the area"it didn't take long for crews from midamerican energy to fix the line. people were able to go back to work a little while later. 3 democratic presidential frontrunner hillary clinton was in sioux city yesterday afternoon. our own kayla novak was at her event at the

getting some early peeks at products and news before the show floor opens. at the las vegas convention center, companies are still putting the finishing 3 touches on their booths. here you see intel's booth, with these massive glowing body statues all around. it appears there's a big focus around health tech and how gadgets can better you as a human being. it's a trend 're seeing repeated by a few companies this year - and yes, that means more things you can strap to your body. "(source: garmin: 00;47;01 - 01;01;16) garmin unveiled a pair of smart glasses called the varia vision. it is similar to google glass, but it's for bikers. it clips on to your existing sunglasses, and a color screen hangs over your right eye to show you performance data and turn- by-turn directions. it ships in march and costs $400 dollars."the garmin headset does make sense for bicyclists, but not all tech teased so far seems as useful. samsung's korean flickr account published images of some large appliances debuting, and there's a four- door fridge with a giant touch screen taking up an entire
