forecasters say new york city and new england could be spared the brunt of the nor'easter.don champion cbs news. 3 first stop for the storm today..... will be heavy rain in the gulf of mexico and the southwest. 3 a suspected car thief from minnesota is in jail in sioux city after a high - speed chase early yesterday morning through several neighborhoods on the west side.sioux city police say 26 - year - old austin shriver of luverne minnesota was arrested just before one o'clock yesterday morning after a car chase. first... police tried to stop shriver at 14th and court street after the plates on the jeep he was driving came back as stolen.when they tried to pull him over... he took off... getting up to 60 miles an hour as police chased him along 12th street... bluff street... and west 1st street... where he crashed into a parked car. shriver was arrested after trying to run away from the crash.he admitted to officece he s on meth at the time. shriver is charged with eluding... reckless driving... o - w - i...

and 2nd degree theft. he's being held in the woodbury county jail on 10 - thousand dollars bond. 3 almost four dozen people from siouxland don't have a job today... after a local call center ends operations.the centurylink call center near the sioux gateway airport took its final call friday. centurylink announced in october the sioux city center would close... with its work transferred to a center in utah. the 47 sioux city employees who were left were given the option to apply for other jobs within the company... transfer to utah... or accept a severance package. qwest communications opened that call center in 2005 before it was bought by centurylink in 2011. 3 the omaha tribe of nebraska has gotten its day in front of the supreme court.the tribe is defending itself against a lawsuit by business owners in pender who object to the tribe's attempt to impose a liquor tax on them.they say their businesses aren't on tribal land... so

law.the tribe and two lower federal courts disagree... saying pender *is* on the omaha reservation. the supreme court should make a final ruling in the case sometime before june. 3 police in sioux city need your help finding a person they say stole a credit card new year's day.you can see the suspect in this surveillancncvideo... walking into the e bacco hut and using a stolen credit card to buy something. police say the victim's purse was stolen from a local bar. anyone who knows anything about what happened here should call the police right away. 3 some talented students from sioux city's three middle schools tested their toasting skills yesterday morning.eigtgtgraders from the talented and gifted programs at ea... north... and west middle schools were part of the annual toastmaster's speaking competition at morningside college. students gave their speeches in one of two categories:
