armando castro of sioux city... here. he was in our "super proposal" commercial. during the super bowl half - time show last night armando proposed to his girlfriend nikki (di - vrees) devries... and she said yes! 3 "i am still in shock. i am just really excited. i love him so much, so looking forward spending my life with you."(armando 3 the couple had their first date a couple years ago at trattoria fresco. congratulations armando and nikki! 3 a teenage burn survivor is giving a message of hope to all of siouxland.17 - year - old kelsay parrott was blowing out a candle when a string on her sun dress caught on fire... causing painful burns on over 43 - percent of her body. parrott was only four - years - old when this happened on may 13th... 2003. she

and was in a coma for three weeks. these days parrott is speaking up and letting people know about burn awareness week. 3 "the shirts say 'support burn survivors i do' and have an amazing quote on the back. but it's just it's just a part of it because even if you're not a survivor and you buy this shirt you can walk around wearing it and if somebody who is a survivor but is hiding it inside or has a family member that is a survivor. cause everybody knows somebody who has been touched by burn survivor, even if they don't know it there's somebody out there that knows somebody."parrott is selling t - shirts to help benefit burn survivors... if you'd like to help out parrott... we've got a link in this story on our website at siouxland news dot com. all money raised goes to the phoenix society for burn survivors. 3 we saw it last week... winters in siouxland and in iowa can get pretty snowy... but that's just what one

known for making a decision at many still undecided -- the outcome in tomorrow's first in the nation primary remains unclear.weijia jiang cbs news manchester, new hampshire. 3 snow is expected in new hampshire on primary day... but it really shouldn't effect voter turnout. 3 six months after kidnapping charges were dropped against him... now a sioux city teenager is accused of before turning the gun on himself.police say 18 - year - old isaiah mothershed shot and hurt a 13 - year veteran of the force who was investigating a series of burglaries and robberies inside the valley park apartments near leif erikson park. after that police say mothershed shot himself. the officer... whose name has *not* been released... and mothershed... were both treated and released. mothershed was arrested along with quite a few other robbery and burglary suspects. last july mothershed was charged with kidnapping and hurting two people in a what police say was a drug deal gone bad. those charges were dropped... though.

more information *today.* stay tuned to siouxland news and our social media accounts for the test on what's now the third shooting of a sioux city officer in the last four years. 3 3 when you see something like this... it's hard to believe no one was hurt. a building collapsed on sioux city's near - northside.the building is in the the 14 - hundred block of jackson street... just behind the select mart convenience store at the corner of jackson and 14th. it happened about one - thirty sunday morning. an employee at the select mart says it sounded like two trains hitting each other head on. 3 "luckily nobody was on the road when it went because there was brick and glass all the way across the road so luckily, nobody got hurt. we really didn't know what the plans were for the building yet, so that was up in the air, but i guess mother nature decided what we were going to do with it now."here's what the building looked like a couple years ago. the building was bought six months ago by the people who own the select

3 the south dakota highway patrol is investigating a two - car crash that killed a sixteen year - old in lincoln county yesterday morning.here's what we know so far... just after 10 - 30 a car driven by a 16 - year - old girl hit a car driven by a 41 - year - old woman on highway 11 near harrisburg. 3 the 16 - year - old was *not* wearing a seatbelt... she was pronounced dead there. 3 the 41 - year - old was wearing a seatbelt and was taken to a sioux falls hospital. 3 the names of the drivers have *not* been released... pending family notification. 3 a local library has taken time to honor an american hero who was injured in the line of duty. sergeant corey (bree - st) briest was serving time in iraq in 2005 when he got a traumatic brain injury from a roadside bomb in baghdad.saturday the akron public library held its first annual "salute our heroes" event to show support for sergeant (bree - st) briest and his family. his wife jenny talked about the immense amount of training and care

meals to homebound seniors find people to help especially during the winter months. "many of our volunteers are seniors. i think the average age is in the seventies, so when the conditions are slick like this their feet they don't feel safe out." the need for wheels to call in some backup. humvees roared into town, filled with active duty soldiers ready to receive their assignment. "they're having the younger guard members deliver meals throughout the city. the parking lot is full of humvees and they are grabbing right now their hot bags and cold bags to take out to the homebound seniors." 3 dressed in uniform, the national guard delivered over 160 meals bringing enough routes and issuing a challenge to other community members to itself gives you a good personal satisfaction. it could be your mom, your dad, your uncle, eventually you that's snowed in, stuck, so make time an hour a week to help out with something."and
