suv in the middle of traffic. take a look at this dramatic video showing the black unmarked suv rolling down the street. police say a woman got? in his car and began staning him. the chief suffered injuries to his hand and leg. he is expected to be released from denver health tonight. investigators right now do not have a motive. a witness we talked to says he saw a man in uniform get out of the suv and then watch the car keep going with no one inside. >> by itself going rogue and i was really hoping there wasn't going to be another car that came and t-boned it but thankfully. it was going pretty slow so gave people enough time to sort of brace for what was going on. >>reporter: police are still investigating to find out if the suspect knew the chief or if this was just random. but witnesses are being credited with helping capture

but the biggest cause alcohol involved in 32% of deaths and not wearing seatbelt was in nearly half telephone vehicle crashes resulting in a death. one life lost the a bad decision is too many. and you know when it is things where people could make a better decision use that seatbelt. that on. you know, that's the difference dying. and definitely the difference between serious injury and maybe just walking away with very minor injuries from a crash. >>reporter: cdot says they are trying to bring down that number of traffic fatalities mainly through education. they say new this year light up boards you see when driving along the highways like here along i-25 they are going to be having a tally of the total number of traffic deaths so far this year to help drivers get the message. reporting live along i-25 jason green our for denver 7. a person was killed in a motorcycle crash just this morning.

brutal sexual assault of a young woman. he attacked her in september of 2014 after meeting her at a bar. the woman went home with white she remembers waking up with a rope around her neck then being repeatedly assaulted for 30 hours. the jefferson county da calls this one one of the most calculated and vicious attacks he's ever seen. ft. collins police looking for a plan accused of stabbinging his ex-girlfriend. charles pierce took off after stabbing his former girlfriend. the victim was stabbed in the stomach she is expected to survive. police say pierce is known to drive a toyota rav4 license plate 585ylw. bolder county rescue teams are still looking for there young man. 20 year-old rider johnson he was last seen leaving work yesterday afternoon. search crews have been out at gross reservoir that's where his car was town they have been

there's more snow -- (audio). >> the driver of this school bus went off the road into a snow cover walking paths it happened near the sierra crest apartments near i-25 and 225 in south denver. the driver apparently took a wrong turn and slid into the trees. there are about a dozen students on the bus at the time thankfully no one was hurt. two douglas county school board members are fighting back after they say a teacher's union sent a tweet attacking one of their teachers. mark boil is live and mark the union isn't taking responsibility for writing that tweet. >>reporter: not a at all they say this tweet is the work of hagers and they are also joining with two board members in condemning that tweet that was sent out from the account. however those board members say this was not the work of a hacker. it was an accident. >> at first i couldn't believe what i was reading.

am i really seeing that. school board presidenttmegan silverthorne says this is the screen thought of s tweet that eventually showed up on twitter. it was written during a district accountable meeting on january 12th. she says it was directed at one of the elementary school teachers. >> when you talk about a teacher that has done nothing show up be dealt indicated work are for his students and have appalling. >>reporter: it came from the twitter account of douglas county federation which used to union. a spokesperson says they condemn the attack saying quote we are sorry that our security failures have resulted in this all pre-indication cations possomething like this from happening in the future. silverthorne and board member judy reynolds sent this letter to the national federation that oversees dcf in response president randy wine garden turned it back around on the board saying in part many of

we now know the debate at cu boulder cost the school $764,000. but school officials say it was worth 4 million partners at the daily camera got the cost breakdown with most of the money going towards safety and securities and site preparation. the school says its earned media value was around 4 million basing that numbers on the debate. the debate in october was largest media event in the cam us 104 year history. the next debate is set for january 28 they will days off in iowa. on saturday february 6th there will be republican debate. it will be from new hampshire. we'll let you know the specific details about who will participant the time as it gets a little closer.
