making news in america this morning, donald trump is heading south today all the way to mexico city. breaking overnight, he says he'll meet with mexico's president hours before his long awaited speech on immigration. hillary clinton's campaign is criticizing that trip as it braces for potential bad news about her e-mails. with tropical weather on the move, millions in thso are hoping for the best as another rainmaker closes in. the forecast track coming up as well as powerful weather across the pacific. look at that eye. and singer chris brown is out of jail overnight and facing assault charges, this after being arrested after an hour's long ordeal at his home. we'll hear from his accuser for the first time. and part of a gas station goes up in flames with two children in a car nearby. the dramatic ending to this

and good morning. we begin with a major announcement overnight from the donald trump campaign. >> the republican nominee is taking his campaign south of the border planning to meet with the head of the nation that was really front and center in his tough immigration talk. >> trump accepted an invitation to sit down with the president of mexico. the meeting comes just hours before a major immigration speech and is already being criticized by the clinton campaign. abc's kenneth moton has the details live from washington. kenneth. >> reporter: diane and kendis, mexico's president extended the invite to donald trump last week to sit down for a meeting. well, late yesterday trump confirmed in a tweet he's going to mexico city. this morning donald trump is heading south of the border, the same one where he plans to build that wall. >> we are also going to secure our border. >> reporter: overnight trump rallied in washington state, but today the man who climbed to the

of mass deportations of mexicans -- >> they're bringing crime. they're rapists. >> reporter: -- will meet privately with mexican president obama enrique pena nieto. nieto has been critical of trump comparing him to hitler and the promise to make mexico pay for the wall riled up mexican leaders like vicente fox on fusion. >> i'm not going to pay for that [ bleep ] wall. >> reporter: trump's visit is happening just hours before he travels to arizona to clarify his stance on immigration. a plan trump's son told cnn >> his policy has been the same for the last, you know, six, seven, eight months. >> reporter: the hillary clinton campaign response, "what ultimately matters is what donald trump says to voters in arizona, not mexico, and whether he remains committed to the splitting up of families and deportation of millions." clinton raked in $12 million on a three-day fund-raising swing in the hamptons. now more e-mail fallout. the state department says about 30 e-mails related to benghazi attacks were recovered during the fbi's investigation into the former secretary of state's

clinton may have turned over some or all of those e-mails initially, but the state department says it still needs time to review them. like trump, clinton was also up righted to meet with mexico's president. her campaign says she looks forward to it at the appropriate time. kendis and diane. >> all of these developments as the polls appear to be tightening. kenneth moton for us in d.c., thank you. results from various primary elections have also come in overnight. arizona senator john mccain held off three contenders to keep his hopes alive for a sixth consecutive term. the 80-year-old republican now faces democratic congresswoman ann kirkpatrick in november. and former gop presidential hopeful marco rubio made a late decision to try to keep his florida senate seat but still managed to beat millionaire developer carlos beruf. next up a november battle with democratic congressman patrick murphy. and also in florida losing her spot as the chair of the democratic national committee apparently did not hurt debbie wasserman schultz. she is expected to win her

holding off a challenge by a law professor backed by bernie sanders. breaking overnight, a hurricane watch is now in effect for parts of the florida gulf coach. >> tropical depression 9 is there churning in the gulf and it's expected to sweep across north florida sometime tomorrow. let's get more on that and some trouble for hawaii from accuweather's paul williams. paul, good morning. >> good morning, kendis, diane. we're tracking this tropical depression which won't stay a tropical depression for long expected to strengthen quickly because of the very warm waters in the gulf, and then it's going to target gainesville, jacksonville, and it's going to get stronger, so we're expecting it to get a little more oomph to it. now, what's going to happen, localized flash flooding, windy, rough surf, coastal flooding, isolated tornadoes in tampa, daytona beach. tracking madeline, although doing some weakening, it's expected to be the first hurricane to hit the big island of hawaii. we've had a couple of tropical storms, but this will be the first time a hurricane hits

high surf. take a look at the tracking. expected to be downgraded to a category 1 just to the south of hilo then downgraded to a tropical storm as it moves further out into the water. but please keep in mind, we have another hurricane lester right behind it, diane, kendis. >> well, let's get back to madeline there for a moment because this is a look at the radar, latest radar that we're getting, and this image from outer space shows how huge that eye wall is. at one point 50 miles across. as you can understand,eople are preparing for the storm there in hawaii, but the president apparently is continuing on with plans. overnight the white house says they're keeping a close watch on the storm's track because the president is scheduled to speak there later tonight in honolulu, but he's still planning to be there. and also in the pacific a typhoon proved deadly in japan killing at least ten people. nine bodies were found at a nursing home this morning. thousands of people have been ordered to evacuate, and trains and some flights have been

terrorists in the world has reportedly been killed. isis claims its top spokesman abu mohammad al adnani was killed in aleppo, syria. the pentagon has confirmed that al adnani was targeted in coalition air strikes but the results have yet to be determined. the state department had a $5 million bounty on al adnani. an american hostage and her canadian husband are pleading for their lives in a new video posted online. caitlin coleman and her husband joshua boyle were abducted in afghanistan in 2012. they now say their captors are threatening to kill them if the afghan government doesn't stop executing militant prisoners. coleman has given birth to two boys while in captivity. state department officials are now analyzing that new video. well, this is a big day. the first regularly scheduled commercial flight from the u.s. to cuba in more than half a century takes off this morning. >> the jetblue flight is set to depart from ft. lauderdale with the u.s. secretary of transportation on board. a pilot and co-pilot whose parents were born in cuba will be at the controls.
