burning tonight. 3 it's the beaver creek fire northwest of walden. it has grown to 37,000 acres. firefighters have this one 60% contained. this graphic shows how the fire has grown since starting 11 weeks ago. they do not expect to have this out until october 21. we have high fire danger across much of colorado. a red flag warning is in effect toward lyman and west collins. this will expire at 7:00 tonight but also the teen shaded area are fire weather watches that will turn to a red flag warning tomorrow afternoon. we will see that redeveloped into tomorrow as well. it is so dry it has been gusty and hot here lately that we do have the high fire danger continuing. we also have thunderstorm activity into the southeastern part of the state. a severe thunderstorm warning in effect until six active team. keep a close eye but that's

business sometimes. >> reporter: there are hazards in any job. built first thought someone had it out of -- for one of his drivers. >> he was waving a gun. >> reporter: he said his company contracts with some of the other companies near third and osage looking for people parking illegally. it's not clear if the person with a gun was the one with the outstanding warrant. denver police drew their weapons and fired at least once. >> the suspect was not injured but he has been transported to a the hospital on a medical condition. >> reporter: whatever the case it was the end of the holiday for the folks at starlight towing who are thankful nobody got hurt after what seemed like a rough ncounter with an angry driver. we are still waiting for denver police to confirm who that wanted man is. more details as we get them. for now i am writing maybe denver7.

we continue to have the high fire danger ven into tomorrow. temperatures in the 80s and still into the 90s. here comes the cold front that will be passing through by tomorrow morning. we will have fog from sterling to akron to fort collins. i think you can notice some low visibility especially through the northeastern part of our state. sprinkles could fall toward fort collins as well. by 3:30 in more storming us toward eastern colorado and overnight it looks like we will have shhwers from denver toward fort collins. we will keep an eye on this as we continue to roll on through. we will have 50s and 60s in the overnight hours. if you're headed to the bus stop to go back to school tomorrow 66 degrres with a nice start and a few scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon with highs in the low 80s to go
