>> i want to thank you for all you have done. i wouldn't be the president without you. >> i think about that every day. >> reporter: raising the real trump's ire. i watched parts of "saturday night live" last night. it is a totally one-sided, biased show. nothing funny at all. equal time for us. baldwin responded. with a flurry of several tweets offering the president-elect advice. there is no more equal time. now you try to be president and people respond. that's pretty much it. the actor finally ending with, i could go on. you want more advice, call me. i'll be at "snl." criticism is a first amendment right. though it's had its consequences. >> just so you know, we're ashamed of the president of the united states. >> reporter: with that fateful line in 2003, the dixie chicks were abandoned by country music radio. with president george w. bush weighing in. >> they can say what they want to say. just because -- they shouldn't have their feelings hurt just because people don't want to buy

america," chris connelly, abc news, los angeles. >> let's get more on this right now. cokie roberts is back, along with michael wolff. whose interview with stephen bannon is in the latest issue of "the hollywood reporter." the culture war isn't going anywhere. >> i think it will get more intense. more fun for everyone in some sense. >> fun? >> it's certainly fun for the president. i think that's exactly what's going there. he is -- he is b media, the media responds just as he knows it will respond. >> that would suggest, cokie roberts, that it's not going to stop. more budonald trump, even if so of his advisers want him to. >> oh, i think he's not going to stop. it's clear that he's going to keep up these tweets. but, honestly, it does show that he is thin-skinned.
7:35 am
on ed sullivan's show imitating jack kennedy. we have had comedians imitating presidents. how presidents handle it gives you a sense of who they are. george bush bringing dana carvey in to do his imitation of george bush. i always thought george w. bush was lucky that will ferrell retired from "saturday night live" just as his presidency began. it goes with the territory, and donald trump has to understand that, because otherwise, he looks petty. >> he's going after hollywood. going after his opponents. yet steve bannon, his chief strategist, has deep ties in also, yesterday, he met yesterday with ari perhaps one of the biggest agents in hollywood. >> i think he has deeper ties to the entertainment industry of any president since kennedy or reagan. i don't think it is thin-skinned. >> you think it's strategic? >> this is the campaign he played.
7:36 am
because he ran against the media, and i think from his point of view, it's let's keep doing what works. and cokie, perhaps he doesn't mind having people talk about this. >> i'm sure he likes it a lot. i think running against the media is one thing, however, and getting touchy about comedians is something else, and t the "hamilton," question is i think relevant. i think vice president-elect pence handled that very well. said he liked the was not at all insulted. said to his kids that when he was booed, that's the sound of freedom, and, you know, the booing makes me uncomfortable. i think it's rude, but i think the statement from the stage was completely appropriate because that's what theater is all about. it is a -- live theater is a place where ideas are batted around and confrontations exist. >> it's given people plenty to talk about.
7:37 am
thank you very much and watch "the view" today. brandon victor dixon, the "hamilton" actor who made the speech, will be on. what's coming up on the big board? dutchess sarah ferguson's bombshell decision. she's filing a million-dollar lawsuit over an undercover sting by a newspaper. plus, before you hit the skies for the holiday, we have all seen videos like this. is a rage on the rise? the incident that got 41 people kicked off a plane.

7:40 am
dan, many people remember this. 2010, she was asked about her ex-husband at the time, prince andrew, and if she would gain access to him. and this is what she said. >> on to the next thing. 500,000 pounds when you can to me. open doors. >> it would be prince andrew? >> yeah. >> is that a deal? >> yeah. >> the handshake saying pretty much, i'll get you prince andrew. you this was years ago. why are we just hearing about it now? >> it was an embarrassing moment for her. the reason now is that reporter you see there, known in britain as the fake sheikh, because he would go undercover as a fake sheikh, is now serving time. in connection with one of his stings, he got into big trouble. alleged to have tampered with a witness. now you have a flood of other people coming forward and finally getting their chance to get back at this guy. this guy's been one of the most feared and reviled people for
7:41 am
and so new they view this as their opportunity to finally try to sue and get back. >> how strong of a case is it? rupert murdoch's lawyers say it's defective and embarrassing. >> here in the united states, there would be no case. right? you see her on tape. there's no case. it would be a no-brainer. in england, they're willing more to evaluate the quality of the journalist. part of the lawsuit talks about the way it was edited. misrepresented what actually happened. sorts of things you would never see in a lawsuit here. >> we have sn lawsuits here against the media have been succeeding. >> they have. they have. this one wouldn't in the united states. >> dan, thank you very much. up next, new warnings about air rage. as the holiday travel season kicks into high gear. we have the latest incident. 41 passengers -- excuse me. removed from a brussels flight over the weekend. david kerley back with more on that. are these incidents on the rise? or are we just seeing more
7:42 am
stephanopoulos. you're a smart man. i have the statistics to say infrastructure actually -- that you are actually right. there are fewer incidents than there used to be. i have never heard anything like this. 41 people taken off an aircraft at the same time. all from the same group. and it's rare. usually, it's one or two people. enough to i have the numbers here for you. over the last five years in the united states, we had 183 incidents down to 150, down to year, halfway through the year, only 31 incidents. so yes, there are fewer, but we hear a lot more about them, george. >> and david, i know this is shocking. but alcohol may have played a role. i'm no expert here. but that is what they're saying. and now people are saying, should alcohol be banned on flights? >> there's always talk about that. yes, alcohol was involved with some of the 41 taken off board. this is the big issue.
7:43 am
for them. but they also don't want an unsafe situation inside the cockpit. it's been tried before. flight attendants try to limit people. like, haven't you had enough? sometimes that's led to unruly passengers. it can be a bad mix. >> good luck on the ban. >> good luck with that. sometimes flying leads you to drinking. i like your travel outfit. very chic. i like that, dave. good look. good look. >> thank you. appreciate it. going to get on a plane now. an alarming new study about kids and jun the american pediatrics found children exposed to food advertisements consumed more calories even when they were not hungry. dr. jen ashton will weigh in on this. what are the indications, jen? >> here's the thing. this study found an association with what young children, preschool kids do, watching tv with food ads and then what they consume. in this case, highly palatable
7:44 am
speak for high-calorie, high-sugar, low-nutrient. this is about increased cued eating. and can what kids see prime the pump for behaviors later on that lead to weight gain. it's impossible to avoid these ads. this is very concerning. >> so what should parents do? >> well, look. first, as a mom, i remember these days. you are if control of what your you are in control of what your preschool child watches or do you still can. you can't control a 15-year-old as easily. then, as a doctor, i think this study brings up again that mind-body connection. we know there's a part of the brain that gets really lit up when we eat high-sugar foods. and that path way can be established very early in life, so remember that connection. and lastly, as a nutritionist, i learned, and this bears repeating, put that living color on your plate. don't watch it on the screen. the more color your children
