it says it will save $700 million a year although critics say that number is exaggerated. another big change in public education, the california open enrollment act. the new law lets parents with kids in low-performing schools to transfer them almost anywhere else. but not all schools are embracing it. schools that would lose students are reluctant to take extra steps to educate parents about those options while many high-scoring well funded districts we spoke to all said the same thing -- they likely don't have room for open enrollment transfers. not all parents are on the bandwagon either. a charter ceo said when it comes to children most parents prefer to stay put. >> if a great school exists five miles away, the parents would still rather send them to a close elementary school because of safety and kinds of security. it may help a lot in high school, though. >> critics of this law say the

6:07 am
wedding, they will be keeping these items away from the team until it does happen, if it is going to happen. it would be superstitious to do otherwise. in order for them to have break out all that swag and bubbly all the giants have to do is beat the padres once this weekend, whether it be tonight, saturday or sunday. they're on a roll coming off a 4-1 win yesterday over the diamondbacks and having won 8 of the last 10 games. the padres have beaten the giants 10 times in 15 games this weekend but the giants do have the momentum, something the padres don't have considering they've lost the last 4 of their 5 games and the padres will be up against a soldout sea of orange and black. fans are superexcited to see them make it to the playoffs for what would be the first time since 2003. >> they're going to throw down against philadelphia because we have the better rotation. it doesn't matter. boom. then bring on new york. bring on tampa bay. i don't care.
