today, tuesday, october 5th on today in the bay. straight up 6:00, mike is looking at a developing situation that will affect the commute. >> a potential for ripple effect through downtown oakland. we had the closure since the overnight accident happened just after about 12:20 this morning. reports came in from chp and more details from the police department. the weather command center turned out someone died as a result of the accident. the investigation continues there, block the tunnel from downtown. that might cause the slow down into 880 through broadway with the on ramps and muing smoothly, but you use the hyde or park street bridges over to the island of alameda. that is moving smoothly.

880 starting to pick up northbound with the tail lights and southbound with the headlights down towards the bridge. on the interchange and across the bridge and we saw a good shake on the camera and a lot steadier shot. >> that's a pleasant change and not as much wind, but you want a jacket as you step outside. 40s and 50s as we head towards lynch tomb. notice the temperature are not warm at all. 70 for oakland and 66 in san francisco. trivalley in the southern half of the senta clara valley. a few scattered showers. . new this morning, we are following an amber alert out of the central valley. this girl, 8-year-old alyssa was abducted by a 25-year-old man. fresno police have a man in custody and they aren't calling him a suspect yet. there is no word on where the girl might be. we want to show you a

description of the vehicle involved. it's a 1980 to 1990 brown or red fort pick up. it might have a pin stripe on the side. the license place number is unknown. if you spot the car or the girl, call 911. a battle over imminent domain is in oakland. the city is considering a plan to take over west oakland auto shop. the shop is currently in negotiations to sell kroeger foods, but they are dragging on. they are changing the zoning and taking the shop over imminent domain. an update on the attack on a woman fwh an east bay complex. deputies hope you might recognize a man who tried to pull off the latest rape attempt. christie smith is live to show you what they are looking for and who. >> good morning to you. investigators released the sketch of a man they believe

tried to sexually assault a woman living here. it happened saturday. here's the sketch. the man is a white male with a medium build and wearing all black clothing including a black baseball cap. we also wanted to mention video that we shot of what security guards are doing here at the park regency apartments. basically checking if people who don't live here at the front gate and people who don't have a clicker and writing down the license plates of those who seem like they don't belong. the last was saturday on a 43-year-old woman in the hall way. a man apparently tried to pull her back into the apartment, but she was able to break free. this was the fifth attack since june at the same apartment complex. a berkeley man was arrested in connection with the sauls and pleaded it not guilty. i wanted to mention back here

makes the same mistake mehserle does. we think more than one juror would have changed their vote. >> the attorney said the motion for a new trial is just paperwork. a judge will address the request on november 5th, it is same day mehserle is supposed to be sentenced. a $10,000 reward for a man who shot a 6-year-old girl in her home. the girl was sleeping and one of the bulls went through the wall and hit her in the arm. she is expected to be okay. police wanted to remind you if you give the men information and officers will not ask you for personal information if you don't want to give it. >> police say a man deliberately rammed into a police officer. today in the bi's chris sanchez

is live with that officer. >> reporter: good morning. i talked with a sergeant from fremont police who said pat brower is recovering for surgery on his leg and his foot. the search for the suspect who did this returns this morning. i talked with the sergeant this morning who said investigators are going to track down more witnesses. this is what the search looked like when fremont pd when they stopped in their tracks. they also searched by air. we know that one person is in custody in relation to the man police believe was behind the wheel. the relation between the two is not known. the indication is that the suspect deliberately smashed into the officer as he sat on

his motorcycle on mission boulevard. >> i heard a crash and looked over and the motorcycle cop was just in front of the van and was being pushed. by the van. i saw him going towards the poll. >> police will surge for more witnesses and say that the suspect stole that van from a neighborhood while the rightful driver was making a dhifry and when the suspect plowed in. he was a 10-year veteran who is married with children and though he was pinned under the metal reccage, hoe is in strabl condition at value medical center. today in the bay. >> thanks for the update. >> three people in contra costa are recovering for the west nile virus this morning. they are the first confirmed human cases in the county this

accessing the island because of an thax happened outside the tube. exiting the tube would have found this accident block the lanes and that's why it's cutoff right now. the two cars involved are facing opposite directions. word we got is that it did involve a wrong way driver. someone did hit one of the cars exiting as they were driving the wrong way. we will follow this investigation. sounds like it t should clear up as far as 7:00. it doesn't look like they moved interest vehicles. we will take you back to the maps and access from oakland to alameda is closed. the posey tube is open. park and hyde street bridges, we are focusing on the bay bridge. the lights were turned on at 6:15 and back up here and that's unexpected for a lot of folks. you still have the back up back

motorcycle when the suspect in the stolen van drove straight towards him, pinning the officer under both vehicles. today in the bay's chris sanchez is live where the officer is recovering in the hospital. >> reporter: good morning. when you see that crash scene and the twisted metal wreckage, it is amazing to say that officer is in stable condition. i just talked with the sergeant who said that officer is recover this morning from surgery on his leg and foot. here is what is happening today. they try to pinpoint the weapons and might have seen that suspect fleeing the scene. the plofs stopped the bart train in its tracks at the south hayward station. they searched by air and one person is in custody. that is not the driver who

adhd, depression and suicide. for kids and teens as well. 250 kids in the study and 125 of them dig nose with adhd. they followed the children for 12 years or more. those children who were diagnosed with adhd had a higher risk for both depression and suicide. suicide attempts and completed suicides. in fact they were times more lick le to plan a suicide and 18 times more likely to complete a suicide. those children who primarily suffered from attention problems were more likely to become depressed. those who primarily had issues are hyper activity will be more likely to be suicidal. today in the bay. >> thank you very much. >> we want to check in with mike

for an up date on the tube. >> still scheduled for a 7:00 a.m. open after the overnight accident. more details on the alameda side. two officers pulled over a speeding car around midnight. a short exchange and the suspect got back into the car and fled on to the streets. let me take you to the scene of the accident. the officers lost sight of the vehicle and aring wrong way. that's the scene here. the investigation just about conclude and they are removing the cars from the roadway. two of them flatbeds. we will have to remove the cars and a couple of them look like they can't be driven. major issues for the drivers. not life-threatening. we will take you to a map and show you the vicinity. the toll plaza backed up towards
