today. >> livermore is one of the spots seeing temperatures dipping in the upper to mid 40s. you want to bundle up. it is cold enough that i can say a light jacket will not cut it. mid 40s and 70s and the weekend looks fine. after the trivalley may get close to 90. a cool start around lunchtime and the temperatures towards livermore and concord and fairfield. upper 70s to fairfield and the weekend is warmer not just for inland spots. mid- to upper 80s inland on sunday. laura? >> we are an hour before we get big news on the latest unemployment numbers. that and other news before the bell, let's go to courtney reagan. good morning, courtney. >> good morning to you. the big focus for investors is the monthly employment report due out in about 45 minutes and expected to show mediocre job

growth. they are calling for jr jobs added. most people are focused on the private sector. companies are expected to have added about 75,000 such jobs. the unemployment rate is seen rising to 9.7%. if it happens, it will be the highest since may. this is the last report before election day. ahead of the numbers, stock features are lower. asian markets are lower overnight and europe negative two. we had prejobs reports jitters that the dow lost points and the nasdaq did inch up three points to 2383. say goodbye to low hotel room prices. more people are traveling and demand for rooms is tighter. the number of rooms sold rose 8% in august. they say the room rates rose this summer for the first time in two years. not great if you are paying for

airports in the world for traveling and smuggling. drugs, weapons and live animals. this is the story of a passenger thought he had a leg up on the authorities until they found feathers and bird pop on his shoes. he had 14 asian song birds strapped to his legs. >> they were hanging like christmas ornaments swinging along? >> just like with breakable ornaments, they had to carefully remove the birds. this is the video of what they went through to save the song birds. >> he a total of 14. >> they wore biohazard suits because of the fear of bird flu and other diseases. the birds that were tied to his legs were quiet on the long overseas journey because it was dark under his pants. when they lifted up his pant legs, the birds started sing.
