the parade of ships getting is started. right after that, blue angels. it is going to get started. 55, san francisco. 40s, north end of the bay. patches of fog, not a lot. this is the satellite. notice the cloud cover. we are done with it. a ridge of high pressure. because of the position of the tide, it will give us the north wind, which will clear out the fog along the coast. here is your daily planner. 70s and 60s by noon. high clouds. the storm that i showed you. 5:00 p.m., 80s. more on the seven-day forecast in a bit. i think you will like it. it is going to be a little bit warmer each day. it sounds good. we will give you the rundown on the activities in just a moment. first, new this morning, a night of dancing in a san francisco nightclub turned into a night of terror. now, police are looking for the shooter who left another man clinging to life this morning. the shooting happened just after

midnight in cafe kokomo. san francisco police tell us the victim has life threatening injure rs. police do not have a suspect this morning. the torture tips as the giants are tied up with the braves. the giants lost game two in extra innings. their playoff series with the atlanta braves is headed to atlanta. nbc bay area sports director raj mathai shows is all the highlights. if you are a giants' fan, history is not kind. the last time the joints were in the playoffs, they won game one and lost three in a row. the giants hoping it doesn't happen again. what happened here on friday night. we will show it to you. a record crowd. more than 44,000 fans. the largest crowd to ever see any game here in the ten-year history of at&t park. let's cut to the chase. the giants blew a four-run lead. in the eighth inning, the usually reliable bull pen, brian

the giants fever tab. you can only get from this station, the broadcast home of your san francisco giants. the giants may be headed to atlanta. thousands of folks are streaming into san francisco looking for a little thrill for fleet week. fleet week festivities gets going today. the parade of ships starts at 10:00. after that, you will twoont look to the skies and maybe cover your ears. the blue angels air show starts at 1:00 this afternoon. fleet week wraps up on tuesday. the manhunt is on for a man that tried to kidnap two young girls in the east bay. it could have been a very different ending if not for one sister who would not let go. this happened late friday afternoon near a park near sunnyview drive and knobhill avenue. cheryl hurd takes us to the ten-year-old who is helping police put together a sketch of

the suspect. >> reporter: this brave young girl has been working with police for hours trying to give out every detail that will help police find the man that tried to snatch her sister. >> in guy, he keep on coming around the corner. he was holding oen to my sister's shirt, trying to grab her. >> reporter: ten-year-old maria holding on to her grandmother's arm tightly as she explains what happened to her and her 5-year-old sister as 4:00 this afternoon. >> i was trying to calm my dog down. i was pulling my sister back. >> pulling from back from a man that she says was trying to calm her sister while the two were walking their dog near sunnyhill and knob hill avenue. >> the man who tried to kidnap her sister circled around them several times. she says, he was an older man driving a green jeep with a gray goatee, a missing tooth on the upper left side of his mouth. >> he said he had a gun. he was going to kill them.

he was going to kill their parents and that they were going to come and live with him. >> reporter: that's when the ten-year-old grabbed her sister and her cell phone and called for help. >> i am really proud of her. i'm really emotional about it. i am so grateful they are okay. >> reporter: police say the jeep has a blue and white license plate with the letter "g" and the number five in it. in pen knoll, cheryl heard, nbc bay area news. a claim of government espionage is reverberating to washington, d.c. a 20-year-old said a mechanic yanked out a wire and pulled out a gps tracking device. he claims that when his friend posted this photo on line, six fbi agents dropped by asking for the device back. he says he cooperated but insists there is no reason he should be under surveillance. the fbi is not acknowledging

that they spoke to him nor that they received a device. published reports say the feds are investigating. one mystery solved, another underway. crews found a missing car in a sinkhole that opened up back in april. this he don't know what caused the hole in the first place. the honda civic disappeared last april when the 30-foot deep sinkhole opened up on via verde. engineers are testing the soil and sewer that runs under the san pablo creek to see what happened. they should have results by the end of this month. still ahead on "today in the bay," there is still light for 30 trapped miners. >> another attack on supplies for u.s. troops in back stan. find out what's behind these attacks. lots of folks will be watching the blue angels as they take flight. craig says the fog not going to be a problem. in southwestern pakistan, more attacks on tanker trucks carrying fuel for nato. 30 tankers were torched by gunmen. pakistan closed several border crossings into afghanistan. that's now causing a big backup of heavy trucks carrying fuel and supplies for nato troops pakistan closed down border crossings after u.s. troops accidentally killed pakistani soldiers. the u.s. and nato have apologized. they say they only plan to open the khyber pass for now. the rescue tunnel for 33 trapped miners is now finished in chile. crews broke through to the area where the men have been trapped since august 5th less than an hour ago. it will still be several days

before crews will begin to try to pull the miners through the shaft. they have to make sure it is smooth and stable enough for the escape capsules. firefighters in arkansas are mopping up after several his store, downtown buildings were destroyed. the four buildings are across the street from the city hall building there. so far, investigators have no idea how this fire started. the buildings caught fire last night. one of them was a mortuary. two of the buildings were vacant. someone was living in another but managed to escape without injury. coming up on "today in the bay" tomorrow will be a big day for weddings. we will show you why so many people are headed to the altar on a sunday morning. selling a home is tough. we will show you how to make it just a little bit easier. plenty of sunshine out there. live oakland. fleet week is here. the weekend is here. we will talk about the weekend weather forecast coming up in a bit.

towards fremont hills and off to the east side of the east bay. the warm spots. we will get up into the mid-80s today. plenty of sunshine. a bit warmer. 55 in san francisco. low and mid-40s for the north end. not a lot of cloud cover to keep us a little bit warm during the overnight hours. this is very interesting. a nice storm right in through here. cold air. it is all moving right up into the pacific northwest. that's where the rain is going to remain today and into tomorrow. for us, we will get some sunshine. because of the location of this rinl of high pressure, right about here, the air flow going up and over that, will give us a north/northeasterly wind today. a little bit of a breeze late tonight. a little more wind tomorrow. overall, mostly sunny. high clouds passing up overhead from the storm up in the pacific northwest. at the beaches, mid and upper 60s. these numbers get warmer monday and tuesday. 70s and 80s. mid-80s for the warmer spots. temperatures very nice today in

notice, kris sanchez, on tuesday and wednesday, the warm spots will be closer to 90s. look at the beach numbers. 70s as we get into next week at the beaches. >> we always notice the beaches get crowded this time of year as the locals head there and the tourists. it might not be that obvious to us here in the bay area. the u.s. housing market is slowly recovering. even with the improvements, we are hardly talking about a sellers market. if you still need to sell, you will need a leg up on the competition. here is kim fisher with a few tips. >> gina branch has been a realtor for several years. she says, in this market, sellers have to kick it up a notch if they want to stand out from the competition. take this home, for example, starting from the outside. >> curb appeal is very important. you only get one chance to make that first impression. >> this seller has that down pat. inside, some things can be done to make it more buyer friendly. >> clutter is the biggest issue. it makes rooms look smaller.

filming the latest pirates of the caribbean. john lennon fans are packing into new york central park section known as strawberry field. today would have been his 70th birthday. a new movie celebrates the life of the musician and activist. mark barger has a look at it. >> i'm john. i would love a tea. >> reporter: future beatles come together for the new film "nowhere boy." it focuses on john lennon's liverpool, england upbringing. it arrives at what would have been the music icon's 70th birthday. >> if you are a music fan, you are hearing the echos of john lennon's music, whether you realize it or not. >> reporter: lennon teamed with paul mccartney to write most of the tunes that allowed the beatles to dominate the air waves in the 60s. he stood out on a new musical

big shows because of that low fog. this year, no? >> not the case. it is going to be great. you just saw that shot there. no fog through the golden gate. 55 degrees in san francisco right now. as we go through the afternoon, more sunshine. we are closer to 73, mid-70s in san francisco. a couple of 80s in some of the warmer spots. this is the story for today and most of the week. a little bit windier tomorrow. overall, still with the 70s. more in a bit. no fog, great weaken. sunscreen so you don't get a sunburn. new this morning, san francisco police are looking for the man who pulled a gun and shot it in a nightclub overnight. the shooting happened just before 12:30 at cafe kokomo in pet tray ya hill. san francisco police tell us the victim has life-threatening injuries. police do not have a suspect.

the hunt is on for a man that tried to kidnap a 5-year-old girl in the east bay. it happened around 4:00 yesterday afternan at the corner of sunnyview and knob avenue. the older girl, the ten-year-old, tells police a man circled around several times before he grabbed her sister and tried to pull her into his car. that's when the young girl says she fought back. >> i wasn't really thinking or nothing. i was just trying to get my sister back. >> he said he had a gun. he was going to kill them. he was going to kill their parents and they were going to come and live with him. >> what a brave little girl. only ten years old. police are now looking for an older model green jeep with possible damaged left headlight. it has a blue and white license plate with the letter "g" and the number 5 in it. if you know anything, you should call pen know police. one loss cannot curb giants' fever in the bay area. the giants take a day off before

the playoff series moves to atlanta. it turned into a late one at at&t park last night. it was a scary moment early on in the game. buster posey and sandoval ran into each other. they were slow to get up. both of them ended up being fine. in the bottom of the first, pat borel made it 3-0 with this home run. then, the braves tied up laid and the game went into extra innings. in the top of the 11th, rick ankiel hits one into barry bonds' territory mccovey cove. that would prove to be the game-winner. the giants lose, 5-4. but, it's not over yet, folks. giants' fans never let up during the first two games. what does it take to keep them. turns out, music is their mojo. one man responsible for spinning the fans into a frenzy. nbc bay area's felipe damili

october is, of course, breast cancer awareness month. one connecticut heating oil company is helping to raise awareness by painting the tanker trucks pink. the trucks turn heads on the roadways and they are making a big statement. the man who owns the company has gone a step further. beyond painting the trucks pink, he has joined a fight against breast cancer donating 1 penny from every gallon to the breast cancer foundation. >> i read an article about a propane company in new hampshire that was doing it and i made a couple of phone calls to the american breast cancer foundation. that's it. >> they have been doing it for two years and have already raised more than $15,000 for the
