>> hard to held. they will be getting out the champagne glasses or goes to game five. who knows. history has been kind. after last night's shutout of the rangers, a little time to celebrate because the giants have an evening work out in arlington before game three tomorrow. history has been kind to other teams in a similar situation. we will throw numbers up so you can follow me here. the giants are the 52nd team to win the first two games in a world series. statistically they have an 80% chance of winning the championship if you consider these next two numbers. that 40 of the past 51 teams with a 2-0 lead did take it all the way and win. the last 11 team who is won the first two games at home like the giants also won the series. keep in mind history shows us the past performance, but does

thank you very much. it is 6:07 right now and switching gears, friends and family gagger to remember the life of the eighth victim of the san bruno explosion. services for james frankel will be held at 5:00 at st. peters church. frankel was rescued from the wreckage, but died 16 days later at a nearby hospital. jackie spear will meet with san bruno residents tonight and on the agenda are safety concerns following the pipeline explosion and fire. it will be held at robert's catholic church at 6:30. st. robert's church. yesterday the public utilities commission gave president power to increase pressure in the pipeline. he will only do so if a cold snap keeps it necessary to keep them flowing to service facilities like hospitals. >> airport security screenings are about to get more hands on. some will get enhanced pat down screenings, but tsa tells us

testing in that hospital. the test results were wrong. all because of a poppy seed bagel that she had eaten just before she gave birth. the aclu is filing suit against the children and youth services and the hospital. a scare in the skies this morning. federal investigators are looking into what caused a two-foot hole to open up on the side of an american airlines plane mid-flight. passengers report hearing a loud explosion and a loss of cabin pleasure on a flight from miami to boston yesterday. passengers and crew put on oxygen masks as the plane returned to miami for an emergency landing. >> lights were going on and off and noises and people were hysterical and crying. screaming. grabbing on to each other. >> pilots landed safely and no reported jurisdiction. they are trying to figure out what caused the hole. >> things are getting tight around the country. president clinton is denying rumors that he asked a democrat

the governor had taken out the money when he signed the latest budget that helped the parents of about 55,000 kids afford child care. the state assemblyman joins us to talk about what parents can do as a solution. thank you for joining us. this is a tough one. we saw it coming. you are trying to help prepare. the first is trying to kick in funds, but they only last until january. >> i recommend everybody call their child care provider right now. >> a lot of these people that are affected by this, you say about 3,000 in the bay area or is that in santa clara county. >> about 3,000 and 10,000 in the way area are getting this child care program. >> this enables family who is need the extra income to work and without having a place to send their kids. >> they're got off welfare and got a job and they are working and getting subsidized child care. without that, they can't survive and they have to leave their jobs.
