nimitz freeway, we have the-car accident. i am updating this near whipple road as you head out of fremont and hayward. you have four cars involved and one is a big rig that might stay in lanes. two cars in the center and on the right. we have slowing for everybody. it's a good alternate if you can get over there. just stick it out and it will be clearing. clear towards 92. livermore snowing an unusual pattern and we had slowing. speeds below 50 towards livermore, but suddenly it cleared up over 15 minutes. livermore and pleasant and dublin. back to you. >> struck him out! for the first time since 1954, the giants are the world champions. >> that's the strike out that sparked an all night celebration. some fans are still out there.

they are finally starting to go home. >> lincecum was hot on the mound. let's go to rob redell to show us what's happening right now. >> good morning to you. you know when you are a fan waiting for the championship team to come home, you don't know what to expect. the players and coaches stick around or they high tail it out of here. fair to say to 200 to 300 fan who is lined up got more than they could have possibly expected. when the team arrived back home after 4:00, within moments, the team ceo greeted the loud cheering crowd with the most precious carry on, the world series championship trophy. walking it up and down the line. the team manager with the first order of business was to shake the hans of fans and telling them how much it meant to the team. they high fived along the way with another big reason to flash the famous smile. >> i can't believe we made it.

the second month, nobody can we we made it. we have to enjoy this. we keep celebrating. >> i knew everybody was excited, but i didn't know they were going to be here waiting for us. this is just special. >> the scene is definitely quieted down now outside at&t park. fans and the team have gone back home. i don't know if anyone will be getting sleep concerning the adrenaline rush we are on right now. on the plane right home, there was no sleep on board like the panda we heard from who was talking to us earlier. you can imagine there was a lot of fan pride and we want to show it on their hats and tees. we have christie smith not far from me downtown here with the merchandising efforts afterworld series champion win.

she got caught in insider deals at goldman sachs. she changed her story about physically abusing an employee. she campaigned as tough as nails on immigration knowing her housekeeper of 9 years was undocumented. her tv ads have been condemned as false and misleading. and even her hometown newspaper said meg whitman has demonstrated "a loose relationship with the truth"

around 45 minutes from now, the gubernatorial race has been hotly debate and contentious. today in the bay joins us live with more on the race for governor. chris? >> in the polls, the race for governor was neck and neck for a long time and in the last couple of weeks see saw a gap open up. jerry brown was out on the campaign trail enjoying a 10-point lead in the polls yesterday and celebrating the san francisco giants world series win. he said he sell be out trying to persuade voters today. he is going to vote in oakland today. whitman said it's not over until it's over and her internal polls give her the edge and she is no throwing in the towel soon. she won't vote today. she did early voting last week. you listened up on that one.

rank choice voting is in effect today for the first time. you want to put your candidates in order of choice. a, b, and c. don't put the same candidate for all three because it only counts as the first choice and you have no second and third choice. there is another curiosity for treasurer of san pablo today. there is a chance voters could elect a candidate who passed away a month ago. charles nicholas still appears on the ballot. if elected, the council can appoint somebody or call an election. there write in candidates trying to vie for that one. we will talk about one of the other high profile races in california. we will talk about the boxer and

fiorina race. >> it will be heading to the polls at 7:00. >> joe matthews is the prop zero blogger and analyst and joins us live from los angeles this morning. good morning. >> good morning. >> i know you spent a lot of time at the candidates, boxer, brown, whitman. what is the mood and how has it changed? >> i think the governor's race, there is a general feeling that it's clear that brown is ahead. a very confident campaign. the brown speech in los angeles was almost the speech the day after talking about how he wanted to reach out and listen to the other side. that shows a degree of confidence. the boxer and fiorina dynamic is difference. a lot of nervousness and anxiety. the polls show boxer ahead, but there is a lot of different polls there. if there was going to be an

upset, i think it would be fiorina winning the race. >> let's talk about voter turn out and i know from the democratic side, you see a push to get as many people to the polls as possible. president obama was here and the first lady was here to get out the vote. what do you think is going to happen? >> i think voter turn out will be pretty low. you will see a figure talked about in the 50%, 54 or 55 or something like that. people say that sounds good. that's only a small part of the story. there a little more than 17 million registered voters, but 23.5 million californians who are adult citizens and non-felons eligible to vote. if we get 9 million people voting, that's more than 60% of folk who is are eligible to vote in california not voting. that's really the message of this election. it's this message that in state

>> they never ever enforced it and struck down the law in the circuit of appeals. california keeps defending it and it's before the united states supreme court. at question is whether the law the way it's written is constitutional. is it constitutional to take one media, video games and make a special case not protected by free speech? who gets to decide that? i want to point out something. we are showing video of a violent video gayle here, but the california law addresses games far more violent than this, the kind we wouldn't dare show on television. >> this is about protecting kids. there is ample evidence that demonstrates these video games are harmful to our children. that's why we are here. >> they spent at least a quarter million dollars defending the laws. the opponents have to pay every time california loses.

that doesn't include the california fees and the legal fees that california has racked up in the process. >> you brought up an interesting point. that was why are you regulating just video games when you can have violent content in books and movies? >> absolutely. if it's okay in a poem to talk about a violent death, why is it not okay in a video game? that's a critical question. >> it gets back to the freedom of speech. >> exactly. >> in the meantime, san francisco giants we have been talking about. that's the big story besides the election. they are the world champions of major league baseball. a lot of fans are thinking about next year's roster. a lot of fans have been wanting to know what's going to happen with barry zito with three years left on his $126 million contract. the team general manager said zito will stay put. he told the l.a. times he is not going to trade zito. he was left off of the postseason roster.
