i'm veronica dela c uxcruz. today president obama plans to roll out his plan. for more we go live to nbc's tracy pots in washington. >> reporter: good morning. word this morning from the white house is that the president will propose a 4.4 deficit reduction plan. less spending on medicare and medicaid and spending on pentagon and defense spending issues. and tax increase that republicans say they don't want to talk about until we cut more from the budget. any talk of a tax increase is a non starter. the minority leader in the senate says that you can't tax your way out of debt. republicans also saying they

don't want to raise the nation's debt limit so that we can take on more credit. they are pushing back a vote on that until july which would be after we hit the limit but before any bills would come over due. the treasury department saying that would become dangerous. we are expected to hit a record $1.4 trillion deficit this year. >> thank you. former egyptian president facing questions and battling health issues. he is reportedly been diagnosed with an igregular heart beat. the prosecutor general's office says he is being investigated over issues during the uprising this year and looking into

the mother let a 4th child out of the vehicle seconds before it plunged into the river. rescuers searched for the van for an hour before finding it in ten feet of water and pulling it ashore. in ohio, the theft of a 4 carat diamond caught on camera. the suspected played the part of the suspects at a display case. they looked at the diamond and dashed for the exit. no arrests have been made. in utah a flash and grab. the suspects snatched $4,000 worth of coral from a fish tank. the owner who wanted the merchandise back doesn't think they want it back outside of the tank. in indiana a grandma with guns.
