it's near mcclemmons high school. he's expected to recover. police did take one teen into custody. medical marijuana users -- city leaders will decide whether to ban pot dispensaries. it opened last month without permits. they will consider a 45 day moratorium tuesday to take a closer look at the policies. antioch will be the first east bay city to have gas pipelines tested by pg&e. they will test using water pressure next month to gauge the safety of the lines. this is after san bruno's explosion. one and a half miles of pipeline will be tested.

there will be community meetings monday and tuesday to answer questions you might have at the ramada inn from 5:30 to 8:30. pg&e's executive is stepping down and taking a hefty parting gift with him. he's stepping down after what he call as challenging year. he leaves in eight days and takes $35 million in retirement with him. he was blamed for spending millions on proposition 16 which failed in june. it would have made it difficult for cities and groups to buy their own power rather than forced to go through pg&e. he changed the middle east forever. this morning he's in the bay area for the first time. the symbol of israel's leaderless area.

it's 4:41. you are look at 880. the mt. diablo school board will vote for an agreement for secretaries and clerical workers. they call for three and four-day furloughs. employees will also be required to pay for all their increased medical benefits as of january. trustees will meet at 8:00 this morning to vote on the agreement. have you heard of a hookah pipe? what many don't know is doctors think hookah does more damage than cigarettes. vicky nguyen has the story. ♪ >> reporter: for loren and her

friends, it's not unusual for a night out to end around one of these, whether in a hookah lounge or at home. >> in college, especially, everyone tries it. >> reporter: a hookah is a water pipe used to smoke tobacco through cooled water. the appeal comes from three things, the taste, the lack of smelly smoke and the social atmosphere. >> we can all sit around and relax and hang out. it's not the same as going out to the bar and getting drinks or partying. >> reporter: nearly 3,800 college students, 40% said they tried hookah, but nearly half did not smoke a cigarette. it's alarming news to dr. tom dailey. >> this is cigarette smoking on steroids. >> reporter: the board member of breath california says it's a

double whamy. he says the idea the smoke is filtered when it passes through the cooled water is bunk. >> it's an astounding exposure to a greater number of toxins by people holding their breath longer and inhaling deeper. >> reporter: how dangerous is it? one hour in a hookah lounge is as dangerous as smoking 200 cigarettes. >> these big black holes, that's emphysema. >> reporter: aside from the heart and lung diseases, there's a germ factor to sharing the pipe. >> there's virus transmission and other infectious diseases. >> reporter: it's growing in the bay area. there are six lounges in san jose. palo alto has three. almost all within walking
