slowdowns in the east bay in a second. back to you. >> welcome back. if you drive-through oakland's busiest streets you may feel a bump in your ride. christie smith is where they are patching potholes. >> reporter: if you drive-through oakland, you are going to find potholes and drivers trying to avoid them. we are on telegraph avenue where this hole fix is starting later this morning. the city is trying to fix 2,000 potholes in a month. the mayor says in town hall meetings about infrastructure, the chief complaint is about potholes. it gets worse in the spring when rain makes the holes. if you have ever spilled your coffee or had to hold on tight

for at least four men wanted for a double murder outside a nightclub. they are considered armed and dangerous. cheryl hurd has more. >> reporter: no word on when sweet jimmie's will reopen. the owner says the deadly violence didn't happen inside, it happened outside of his business. oakland police believe the suspects were out to rob people attending a lil wayne concert around the corner from sweet jimmie's on broadway. people having a good time, suddenly finding themselves in the middle of a shooting. david ward, the owner of the newly opened bar on broadway spent less than two minutes at his club late monday.

he released a statement says at no time were they patrons of sweet jimmies. they were attempting to rob someone outside. when they failed, they began shooting. several people ran inside sweet jimmie's get to away from gunfire. six people shot, two of them killed. >> this is one of the safest areas in the community. it doesn't affect the businesses directly as much as it affects it clients. people don't want to come to a place they think they are going to get shot. who can blame them. >> reporter: business is thriving in this tough economy. >> it's a shame. fight that is used to happen with fists is happening with guns. >> reporter: business owners say some clubs attract an element that brings violence with it.

many businesses closed because of it. some say it's a part of living in an urban area. >> i live in a nice part of san francisco where somebody got shot down the street. somebody working down tone. it's the dangerous nature of the world we live in. >> reporter: police say they need your help if you have information to help them track down the killers contact the police department. it's 4:36 now. pg&e will host another round of public meetings to talk about plans to test gas pipelines in the cities. they hosted meetings last night as well to answer questions people might have about safety in their neighborhood. now these tests will be con dukted under new regulations following last year's deadly blast in san bruno. water will be flushed down the lines. that tests the strength.

the meeting is from 5:30 to 8:30. backers of prop 8 should have released himself from ruling on the marriage ban because of his relationship with a man. they file add motion with the district court to set aside his ruling t. judge had a clear conflict of interest not only because of his sexual orientation but the relationship of a man that could end in marriage. they declared the ban unconstitutional before he retired in february. police looking for the owner of a pit bull that attacked a smaller neighborhood dog. it happened in danville. a woman was walking her dog when the pit bull charged at them, violently grabbing the smaller pet. a man came from a nearby home and pulled him away.

the little dog was later euthanized. detectives have a number of leads in the case. a new app for android phones, dog wars. players feed and train and fight their virtual dogs. animal rights activists say it could be used for a training ground for would be dog fighters. it's produced by cage games. they feature a pit bull with a bloody muzzle. it's a game, it's not real. they say other video games are out there that are much more violent. the state senate approved a bill that increases fines for texting or using handheld cell phones while driving. the base fine could increase $50 for first time offenders and repeat offenders more than $420.
