i'm scott mcgrew. it is 4:30, let's get right to an east bay forecast and meteorologist christina loweren. >> good morning to you, scott. i always like it when you say meteorologist, it sounds so good. but sometimes you don't have to be a meteorologist because the weather this week is going to be phenomenal. perfect weather. as we head through the afternoon hours, our temperatures are going to climb into the 70s today, so get ready for another beautiful day in the bay area. i'll let you know just how much warmer it will be from yesterday in the east bay. i think you'll be quite pleased with the numbers we have on tap for you. let's check the numbers on the roadways. >> good morning, christina. the speed limit for most commute spots 65. 680, there's 71 going on there. we do have some construction, you should always slow for the cone zone. eastbound at willow pass road, that's picking up right now but in your commute direction we do

of the bayview district where homicides dropped dramatically while he was in charge. he is mayor ed lee's choice and has a number of strong backers, like the police officers association and state attorney general kamala harris. when he was deputy chief he was one of the command staff indicted in 2003 for allegedly conspiring to obstruct the investigation into fajita-gate, who can forget that. that was where off-duty cops allegedly beat up two men over their food. a judge ultimately dropped the indictment as baseless, but there are a number of things he's going to be dealing with as well, including budget cuts. but he is expected to be sworn in here today at 11:00 a.m. reporting live, christie smith. the oakland coliseum may get a new name today. a deal expected to be approved will name it overstock.com
4:34 am
coliseum. the online retailer will shell out $1.2 million per year for the next six years to get the rights to the name, but the a's and the raiders probably shouldn't get too familiar with overstock. overstock.com is in the process of renaming itself o.co so eventually it could be the o.co coliseum. it's the closest thing to a giveaway. santa clara is looking for more than 1300 families and businesses that have not claimed money on deposit with the county. in some cases the money is in the thousands. one family apparently has $24 house waiting for them. their name was on a list of people and businesses owed restitution because they were victims of a crime or money is on account with the county and there were overpayments. the family says the money could not have come at a better time. >> the last couple of dollars, you try to manage your money as best you can. it's just so weird because we're
4:35 am
down to our last maybe $300. so, yeah, this money is going to be a godsend. >> now folks on this list have until may 27th to claim their money. after that it gets used by the county itself. gamers beware, you may have been hacked. as we've been reporting, sony's online network for the playstation suffered a catastrophic failure. millions of gamers may have had their personal information compromised. che cheryl hurd has a look at how to protect yourself. >> reporter: if you give out any information on the computer, you run the risk of that information being hacked. it happened to millions of people worldwide. alex considers himself a gamer. his sister, not so much. their mother, julie, says she knows about sony's recent network breach and she's worried about her personal identity being stolen. >> to have these kinds of services, you have to put in
4:36 am
credit card numbers, addresses, phone numbers. >> reporter: if you own a sony playstation, that information is in jeopardy. >> it started off what seemed like some kind of an interruption of service to playstations online network, the gaming network, but then within probably a day of that, sony came out and said it was something much more serious. >> reporter: the sony network hacked. the company released a statement to us saying an unauthorized person obtained personal information belonging to roughly 77 million gamers worldwide. that's twice the population of california. neil o'farrell, founder of the identity theft council, says this could be the largest data broach of its kind. >> it's not just the breach of the epsilon breach a week ago that was just name and e-mail address, but this could include names, home addresses, e-mails, billing information.
4:37 am
>> reporter: and maybe even complete credit card information. sony says the network has temporarily turned off playstation network and hired a security firm to investigate and strengthen the network infrastructure. good news for julie berry, with monitoring her credit card statements closely, making sure she is not a victim. >> it's not a perfect situation, but obviously it's happened and everybody just has to deal with the fallout from it. >> reporter: companies will be spending a lifetime trying to stay ahead of the hackers. in danville, cheryl hurd, "today in the bay." it's 4:37. a second richmond police officer has left his job after accusations that he and a colleague hired armed teens for their private security firm. richmond police tell the "san francisco chronicle" the department received a letter of rezmation from officer ray thomas. the other officer, danny harris, left the department last week. now, these officers ran the

4:40 am
overall we have clear conditions, no fog just yet. we could see some develop, especially up in the north bay. overall having a pretty nice start to this wednesday morning. the reason why is high pressure. you can see these clouds arcing up and around. a big ridge of high pressure which is actually going to break down just a little bit as this short wave trough moves in. i really don't think we're going to see any more cloud cover out of this but possibly windy conditions, especially through the east bay hills. as you know, the winds can howl at times so that's what we're expecting tomorrow. today, though, relatively calm winds. 51 in oakland, 49 in concord and 51 in hayward. by noon our temperatures are climbing into the mid-60s and today we'll round out our highs in the 70s. 70 degrees today in fremont, 70 in concord and 71 in livermore. even warmer tomorrow. then we're going to start to level off towards the weekend but still staying nice. i've got your full forecast
4:41 am
coming up in minutes. let's get you to work with mike inouye. >> a light volume of traffic but that's why it's curious. the approach to the bay bridge shows you no problems but way over on your right side, you see that 46 coming off of the walnut creek interchange for southbound 680. no incidents there. i'll watch and see if that sticks around. 680 across the benicia bridge a smooth drive as well as the car ke keenes bridge. i told you about the construction but we got a new incident in brentwood. v vasco road at walnut boulevard. several goats and cows just milling around the intersection. it will affect you heading over towards highway 4. i don't have a sheep icon, but i do have a cow, so there you go. >> thank you, mike. it's 4:41.

4:50 am
what one thing with cnbc or the financial community like to know out of him? >> reporter: oh! when are you going to raise rates. that is the big question. >> that is the one he won't answer. >> reporter: exactly. it's a four-step process. everybody thinks this will happen overnight but first you have to wind down qe-2, which is the bond buying program we've engaged in, then shrink the balance sheet, then signal that you're going to raise rates and then actually raise rates. so there's this whole big pomp and circumstance. but we're very excited about this. this is a big day for cnbc. i'm showing my true nerd colors. >> nicole lapin, thanks for letting me put you on the spot. all right, christina loren joins us. let's ask you about the forecast. >> good idea there, mr. mcgrew. 71 degrees in napa, 70 in redwood city and 72 for santa rosa today. and let me just point out right away, we are going to see a
