jerry brown will present his budget will income tax revenue. it will likely have a $14 billion hole. here is where we stand. the deficit was $26.4 billion in january. in march, the legislature made $8 billion in cuts effective july 1. the governor is asking a five-year extension on the vehicle taxes we pay now. also in play, $2.5 billion in unexpected income tax revenue. they want to balance the budget through cuts alone. others are looking for additional funding including a 1% tax income hike. that would generate $2.3 billion a year. republicans are not waivering on the no taxes stance. >> it continues on if the republicans want to be the no,

space shuttle "endeavor" just a little more than an hour away from taking off. set to take off at 5:56. an electrical problem grounded it a week ago. repairs are complete. launch is a go. mark kelly is the commander. his wife, gabrielle giffords is there for the launch. several states in the south dealing with record flooding this morning. a plan is under way to save

points. the head of the imf is expected to be arraigned in new york this morning. he was arrested on charges of attempted rape on a hotel maid. the imf is expected to hold a board meeting. the incident could not come at a worse time for the imf that oversees the global financial system. europe is looking at bail outs for countries in debt like greece. kick starting a scramble to avoid a default. the white house and congress are trying to get together and reach a budget deal to satisfy republicans so they are going to vote to raise the limit. the treasury department plans to announce the measures today to delay a default until early

august. that includes suspending u.s. savings bonds. i was reading a piece in the washington post that talked about conservative economists trying to sell gold at ft. knox or yellowstone. everything must go. >> thank you very much. meanwhile, christina loren has a look at the monday morning forecast. >> good morning. the way the dollar is bouncing around, we should request to be paid in pure gold. we are going to see golden sunshine later this week. not today, not tomorrow. the second part of wednesday is when you will see it. we are getting a bit of a break, especially in the east bay to dry out. it won't last long. it's going to intensify as we head through the evening. the break we have now, maybe a few more hours. the next round of showers pushes in. by noon, this is what we are expecting. the bay area is getting rain at

that time. it continues throughout the day. the moderate rain moves in later on tonight. this is going to be something that could produce a half inch in the north bay. in the east bay, a quarter inch to half inch. this is where we are headed later this week. 60 degrees tomorrow. not too warm at all until thursday. high pressure builds back in. 75 degrees thursday. the end of the week looks fantastic. then, sunday, possibly another round of late spring rain. it's unusual to see a pattern like this. but, we need the rain to replenish the moisture for the summertime months. back to you, scott. trevor cahill is a reason they are in the hunt in the west. he looked to improve his 2011 record. the as faced the chicago white sox sunday. things did not look good early on as ramirez smacks a home run. that gives the sox a lead.
