good morning, everyone. i'm scott mcgrew. let's check the east bay forecast with christina. i assume no snow anywhere nearby. >> we have snow above mt. am illton. about an inch over mt. hamilton and more rain in the east bay for the afternoon. we have another strong round of rain. this morning, we are getting a break. this cold air, you can see the spotty clouds pushing in. temperatures in the east bay are only going to end up in the upper 50s. i'm noticing a bit of a slick commute this morning. any problems so far? >> not necessarily because of the slick roads. we have a car off the roadway, struck in the mud. you are affected by the weather wind wise. this is the bay bridge toll

plaza. windy conditions. that's what's going on now. advisory for the bay bridge and the benicia bridge. there's a truck reported around parish road. it's off 680 and parish. we'll give you an example, coming up. get ready for changes on the bay bridge over memorial day weekend. christie smith already knows what it is and is live with what drivers can expect. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you. they have a couple big announcements going on today from cal tran. one is a detour for memorial day weekend. this affected drivers headed eastbound into oakland. they are also talking about the ground breaking new app that puts you in the driver's seat while all the changes are going on on the bay bridge. they are going to unveil that in

san francisco today at 10:00 this morning. first, what's happening is that drivers on the lower deck of the bay bridge experience a different approach into oakland starting the weekend of may 28th. speed limits won't be changing at all. eastbound drivers will have a detour as they exit the bridge. there won't be a full closure, but some eastbound lanes will be closed over the weekend from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. no impact for now on the westbound lanes. also, back to the new app, they are calling it bay bridge explorer. it's free and it's cool. the users can experience chances going on on the bay bridge in 3-d. it puts you in the driver's seat. cal trans says it's the first of its kind to use it for a public agency. a westbound detour is set for next year.

this will allow the bridge to open six months ahead of schedule. christie smith, today in the east bay. >> thank you. the trial of the newspaper for chauncey bailey say it will call three witnesses to the stand today. it's two more than bay brought in in his defense last week. prosecutors called nearly 70 witnesses. neither defendant is expected to testify. they are accused of murdering bailey and two other men in 2007. oakland city council will decide whether or not to spend money on gang injunctions. it's strained relationings with the community and money ought to be spent elsewhere. they face questions in court over the le galty. two gangs are prohibits from

gathering in certain areas at certain times. this morning, an alameda county family mourning the loss of their son. he was struck by an suv at santa clara avenue and everett street. he was pronounced dead at children's hospital in oakland. investigators are trying to figure out what happened. the driver of the suv was not arrested. the san francisco giants fan beaten at the dodgers stadium is back in the area. he's being treated at the only hospital that has doctors to handle that kind of trauma. stow was drichb in by ambulance and taken by private jet to sfo. >> everybody is happy and relieved that bryan is stable physically. where he eesz at neurologically,
