coliseum, northbound side on the right, construction north of high street toward downtown oakland. only restricted by one lane, the it full closure we had yesterday. much better for the start. back to you. >> 4:31 now. investigators looking into the cause of an overnight fire at the a pleasant hill apartment complex. fire crews responded to the one-alarm fire at douglas lane near oak park boulevard just after 10:30 last night. reports say there was live ammunition inside one apartment, which was involved in the fire. the whole thing was brought under control a short time later. there were no reports of any injuries. now this morning, east bay police trying to track down the person who used a nursing student ease phone hours after she went missing. 26-year-old michelle lane never came back after taking a break while on rounds at kaiser hospital in hayward friday night but police say cell phone records show someone used her phone several times on saturday.

almost two dozen relatives and akwane tenses have been interviewed by police. her family is offering as 20,000 reward for information leading to her safe return. the antioch couple accused of holding jaycee dugard captive for 18 years will likely spend the rest of their lives behind bars. philip garrido and his wife nancy will be sentenced for kidnapping and raping dugard. phillip could receive 431 years while his life is looking at 31 years before she is eligible for parole. both pleaded guilty in april. no word whether dugard will appear at that sentencing. also this morning, a grandmother accused of snatching her granddaughter to pass her off as her own child is facing kidnapping and burglary charges in contra costa county. 58-year-old erica galego shook her head no but did not enter a plea during her court appearance yesterday in martinez.

she was arrested in los angeles county 15 hours after her son and daughter-in-law woke to find their daughter missing from her crib in their home the grandmother told them she was pregnant last fall and then tried to passed off the child as her own. the map accused of murder earring vallejo musician on highway 80 will face a judge today. a santa rosa man accused of shooting dewey tucker on the highway near hercules in january of last year. all four men are suspected gang members. they shot tucker, police say, because they mistook him for being part of a rival gang. he was an accomplished bass player who toured with artists like lauryn hill much the men arrested in january will attend a preliminary hearing this morning. the man accused of brutally beating giants' fan bryan stow says he had nothing to do with the gruesome crime and taken a lie detector test in an attempt to prove it. the prime suspect in the

notorious dodger stadium beating, last night he let prosecutors give him a polygraph test which his lawyers watched through a closed-circuit television. it is the second time this week that ramirez has gone through a lie detector test. earlier in the week, ramirez's defense lawyers gave him their own polygraph which they are hinting he passed. >> i thought it was a professional examination, she did a type job and i was very complimentary of it. that having been said, i don't know what the results of that exam are, but i know what my exam was yesterday. >> ramirez's mother and sister insist he was with family, not at dodger stadium the night of the beating. the "l.a. times" is told that police in nevada think ramirez could be responsible for a gang-related shooting in a city earlier this year in henderson, right next to las vegas. 4:35 right now. an east oakland neighborhood

asking something be done about recent shootings in the area. 200 faith leaders and activists will be meet with city council and other officials to try to find answers. they are pushing for increased use of the city's call-in strategy. that is a national program which moved people involved in street violence away from crime. other cities across the country which have used the strategy have seen fewer shootings. tonight's meeting start at 6 at die world ministries located on international boulevard. this morning, a san leandro man facing serious charges for setting off a chain of crashes on highway 880 in oakland. you remember this schett shutting down all northbound lanes during yesterday's commute. 24-year-old ma tran was driving under the influence when he drifted toward the right side of the road just before sunrise yesterday. investigators say tran spun out of control, crashing into a big rig and another car. four people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

crews spent hours cleaning up 200 gallons of diesel fuel spilled by the truck and turned wednesday's commute into a nightmare for drivers. a team of pro-baseball players home safe this morning, maybe a little shake.after their plane made an emergency landing overnight. the delta airlines flight carrying ball players from the l.a. answer joyce of anaheim landed without incident at l.a.x. last night after the crew reported hydraulic problems. the plane was supposed to land in orange county after leaving kansas city where the angels played a game against the royals. let's check in with christina this morning. good morning, christina. >> good morning to you, scott. boy, yesterday, kind of an active day around here. we didn't see any severe thunderstorm warnings go up. of course, we pointed out at the top of the show, we saw that rotation, tornado touched down in yuba city, not very far off. the difference between the inland area and where we are is it gets a lot warmer there the cold air moves in and collides

of being deported. sing bought their story, now only has $49 in his account. >> i feel bad. so bad. >> investigators warn if the crooks got away with it once, they will likely strike another victim soon. an update to a story we first brought you yesterday morning, you heard about the oakland man who installed security software to take pictures of the person using his stolen computer, now you can meet him, guy who got laptop justice. joshua kaufman, whose laptop was stolen in march. that afternoon, he turned on hidden security software he had installed. sure enough, a matter of days, it started taking pictures of the computer user, logging the man's computer use, where he was using the laptop. kaufman started a blog called, hey this guy has my macbook, attracting ate tens of thousands of people, including the oakland police.

cnbc headquarters. good morning, nicole. >> hey, good morning to you, scott. the dow slumped -- it was nasty, brace yourself, 279 points yesterday, 12,290 is where we closed. that was the worst day for the dow since last august. the nasdaq composite tanked 66 points, 2,769 where we close there had. futuresthe pretat flat. i just checked it out. touch higher but investors holding their breath after yesterday's big selloff. investors spooked by more weak economic data a huge drop in manufacturing conditions last month, fewer private sector jobs created. so that went over to asian market wednesday they woke up and that trickled over to europe. they are also significantly in the red now and presumably, depending on how the economic data goes this morning that could trickle over to us. we are looking ahead to more numbers on unemployment, productivity and factory orders up today. also, retailers are reporting their may sales today as well, a lot to look ahead to those

we are in for more of the same. summertime is out there. just wait a little bit later to get to it. showers coming through the east bay, just falling apart. we have got dry air over the east bay and south bay, step out of the way, those cloud, the golden gate bridge, the dividing line for showers today, be the case through this afternoon, tomorrow, the showers approach everybody tomorrow night. this is what we are looking at. i put together a he very, very complicated forecast. picked up quite a bit of rain yesterday. nothing like we are expecting, friday night, saturday, even into sunday. .4 in walnut creek, pretty impressive, showers falling apart, you don't have to worry about heavy rain for your morning commute. the jetstream has taken a significant dip. you probably hear us talk about the pineapple express that is the jetstream, typically what we see in january. it just brings all the storm systems into the bay area. we head through the next couple

of days, this is what it looks like, low pressure offshore, turn stationary, sit here and spin, a couple different things when it comes to the forecast, moves inland enough, sits and spins, dump rain over the the bay area, we could pick up to three inches of rain in the heaviest spots. it sits offshore far enough, not going to see those bands moving inland, it will pick up an inch of rain. what the forecast is picking up now, the cell comes in, pretty strong front, 4 p.m. friday, continues to sit offshore and spin, the coast the most rain and finally, a little bit of a break 4 p.m. saturday and then moves inland for sunday, look at your accumulations, we will go more into detail for this a big rap, but this is what you will see. rain on saturday, rain on sunday, few showers monday. there is your clearing, scott, tee time, 7 2 degrees wednesday. the couple accused of more earycug dn d i than a decade, we will continue

>> reporter: this home looks exactly like it did when the story broke except for the windows are now boarded up and the front fence is starting to fall down. now, of course this is the home where young jaycee dugard was held for many years, captive in a backyard shack and there are questions this morning as the garridos are sentenced as to whether she might appear in court and give a victim impact statement but she doesn't have to phillip and nancy garrido have become a negative curiousity to media worldwide, scheduled to be sentenced today in el dorado superior court, nearly 20 years after they kidnapped 11-year-old dugard near south lake tahoe and held her as a sex slave. philip garrido is now 60 years old, expected to be sentenced to 431 years to life. his wife, nancy, 36 years to life. the couple pledded guilty in april. it's unclear at this point whether the garridos will make a statement as well but we are told that media worldwide is expected to be there. reporting live in antioch,
