let's look at the forecast. a hazy start to the morning, but typical in the bay area. i like to start things out cool. >> you are a cool lady, so it's understandable. we have the marine layer pushed inland. the sun will come out. boy oh boy, we have a warming trend like you wouldn't believe. the warmest temperatures of the year so far on the way monday and tuesday. i'll break down the forecast coming up. now, laura has the top stories. of course, we are covering the sad death of two san francisco firefighters. they will be laid to rest today. 53-year-old anthony and 48-year-old vincent died last week from injuries they received fighting a fire. it broke out on june 2nd in the diamond heights neighborhood in san francisco. a flashover overtook them while they were in the home. their funeral takes place in san

francisco this afternoon. firefighters are coming to the bay area to pay tribute to the fallen firefighters. damian trujillo is live with how they are giving their support during this trying time. it is certainly a brotherhood. >> reporter: it is. firefighters from across the area are gathering at this old fire station on third street south of at&t park. this is where they get their assignments. the men and women fill in across san francisco. all of san francisco firefighters can attend the services this afternoon. crowds packed st. mary's cathedral for a memorial in honor of tony and vincent. they were fighting a fire in a four-story home on berkeley way last thursday. they just left station 26. the past week has been extremely painful for the department and for firefighters across the

country. now, crews from across the bay area will pay tribute to the san francisco fire department by filling in during their shifts today. >> coming in here to help. unfortunately, in this tragic circumstances, all of us, we are a family. to be able to help in any way we can, it's an honor. it really is. >> reporter: the cause of the fire is still under investigation. an electrical malfunction is being looked at at this point. the san francisco fire department is looking over the procedures to see if anything needs to change to prevent this tragedy from happening again. the briefing begins at 6:30. it's where they will get their assignments and roll out into the streets of san francisco. some of the streets will be closed today. let's go to mike inouye for details. mike. >> good morning.

because of mehserle's early release coming up on monday. mehserle was sentenced to two years and faszed a maximum of 14 years. he will be released monday from l.a. county jail. the fact he's serving 11 months has supporters outraged. his uncle telling us it was no surprise. >> it was staged, planned, acted out. this is where we are at right now, a state of disappointment. >> reporter: last fall, more than 150 people were arrested in oakland after the former b.a.r.t. police officer was sentenced. the oakland police saying he recognizes the expression. he's hoping for peaceful

demonstrations. people are expected to come together at the fruit veil b.a.r.t. station. details around sunday's protest are going to be released at the b.a.r.t. station by the coalition for justice for oscar grant at 9:00 this morning. >> thank you marla. it's 6:06 now. three people went to a hospital after a brawl in san jose. it happened in and around the mcdonald's parking lot on third and san carlos. they gathered there after a music in the park concert. somehow things got out of hand. police were quick to the scene, but had to wait for back up to break things up. >> the melee was viewed by one of the patrol officers. he put it out for back up units to respond. we had enough units on scene, we moved in. at that time, people pretty much

scattered. >> officers say two people were stabbed, two others hit with sticks or bats. they will survive. so far, there have been no arrests. >> police want your help finding a man involved in a griz lee stabbing. he's on the san francisco's most wanted. chang and another man stormed the district. chang stabbed him multiple times. they dropped him off at a police station. the grandmother accused of kidnapping her granddaughter says she is not guilty. she entered a plea yesterday in a contra costa courtroom. police say she broke into her son's home and took her granddaughter from her bassinet.

she tried to pass the little girl off as her own. a south bay civil rights attorney sa talking of taking the city of santa clara to court. it's a diversity. the city council should not be 100% white. the census shows -- it may be in violation with the california voting rights act. the city may have a voting system that favors deep connections. it could discourage minority candidates. >> they know who is on the board and who is on the council and the demographics of the city. we are giving them the last chance to do so without forcing litigation. >> he says he would like to see them use a voting system like

can but they have a long list of people to deal with. an update to a story we brought you yesterday live. a car dumped into the water turned out to be empty. they found the car and no one was inside. someone stole the car, dumped it into the water. crews lifted the car from the water and just towed it away. an event takes place in an urban winery. bob redell is at the rock wall tasting room. >> reporter: well, laura, rock wall has been out here for four years. what makes it unusual is the view. you are looking at the view from the winery. the foreground used to be the tarmac for nas alameda. you will see it behind these

75 in san jose. i'll let you know about the changes coming our way and the significant warm up. first, laura had the local news. we are following breaking news this morning. police are investigating a gruesome scene in san francisco. a short time ago, a woman living across the street from a park reported she saw smoke in the park. when crews arrived, they found a burned body. we are following an investigation. we have crews on the scene and will have more information available to you when it becomes available to us. this morning firefighters will line the streets of san francisco as two of their own are laid to rest. damian trujillo is live in san francisco where firefighters are celebrating the lives of firefighters who died doing their jobs they were very devoted to. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, laura. hundreds of firefighters are already here gathering at this old fire station in san francisco on south third street.

they will fill in at fire stations across the city so all the san francisco firefighters can attend the services of tony and vincent. last night, hundreds of people showed up at a memorial at st. mary's cathedral in honor of vincent and tony. they talked of bravery and sacrifice. the fire struck one week ago. they were battling a house fire on berkeley way when a flashover occurred. it's when everything around them ignites at once. the cause of the fire in the four-story home is still under investigation. the department is looking to see what, if any, changes need to be made when battling these types of fires. today, the fire house will be staffed by a firefighter from another city. >> again, we are a family. we may not have known the individual person. we come together for the family.

not only the san francisco family, but the family of the fallen. >> reporter: the fire department says crews are trained to fight fires in four-story buildings like the one on berkeley way. since the tragedy, firefighters say there's no way to train for losing one of your own. we have crews here from napa and vacaville. i have seen san jose and fremont. all the firefighters say they are here to honor and pay their respects to tony and vincent. because of the funeral services today, a lot of streets will be closed. we check in with mike inouye. mike. >> thank you. we all take this opportunity to thank those we often take for granted. the funeral services are at st. mary's cathedral. closures for geary around webster and goff. goff is parallel to vaness, the

what is the biggest misperception about urban wineries? >> i think sometimes people come in and try our wine and are like god, your wine is really good. we are like what were you expecting. >> reporter: most wineries are located on the vineyards themselves. the juice from napa, sonoma and other places. i want to take people outside. this is the brand-new tasting room. you have been here for 40 years. right there, laura, is a hangar that used to house the fire aircraft and they used to paint them there. i think you have 40,000 square feet. compared to most wineries, that's the size of ten wineries. >> that's a $2 million represent in napa. >> no kidding. >> reporter: i think your selling point outside the wines, of course, is this view. there's not many places you can come and see the skyline of san
