6:16 am
it's really funny. >> if people don't remember you are also the head of the studio. you are on disney animation, imagine imagineering. and talking about the technology used to deal with that. how did you do that? >> i live in sonoma valley about an hour's commute to here. and i started as soon as the ipad came out. steve jobs, the ceo of pixar, one of my best friends like my brother. this came out i thought this is awesome so i started taking home still images and videos from "cars 2" that i had not got tune and i started leaving voice messages for people. and then they said well, let's write an ipad app. a special ipad app written just for me, and now i work on my commute, and it's about one hour of ipad review time, is equal to about three hours here at the
6:17 am
studio. so it really, the ipad really helped make "cars 2" happen. >> i'm curious on an opening weekend like today. you get nervous waiting for the numbers? what is the next 24 hours like? are you going toing up at midnight? >> it's funny, the first number we get a call from, disney calls with the numbers from guam. and it's like our tradition. we hear the guam numbers. they are across the date line so it opens there first. then we start getting the numbers this afternoon and then tomorrow morning they will call me with the numbers for friday. and it's so exciting. it's nerve-racking because you're like we worked on this movie for three years here. we love this movie. pixar is so invested, these are like children of ours. you want it to do well. >> you go in and watch it? >> yes. >> which theater? what time? >> i have one tradition. on opening day.

later this morning. they say this is racial profiling plain and simple. you have an african-american student thrown off a plane, wearing saggy pants. another passenger, same airline, was apparently allowed to board in a tube top and heels with no problem. the student is 20-year-old deshon marman, he is a football player from san francisco. he was thrown off after u.s. airways flight over a dispute over his saggy pants. police say he refused an employee's request to pull up his pants. the naacp suggests racial profiling. photos surfaced of another passenger on a u.s. airways flight, a man who grabbed a lot of attention. one passenger says what she saw looked like something a female stripper would wear. when she heard what happened to

federal government yesterday. the department of transportation granted the california high speed rail authority 16 million to install the technology and control train to monitor the train activity from san francisco to san jose. caltrain is putting $4 million into the project to help avoid train versus train accidents like one in 2008 where 25 people were killed in southern california. better news, the forecast. >> not as hot as that red looks on you. i'll tell you that much. good morning to you. we're looking good this morning. a little bit of low cloud cover. look what's helping us out. this american flag. a little wind that's going to help clear out a little coastal tag. throughout the day i don't think it's going to hang around as long in san francisco. i think by noon a break up of the cloud cover.
