we are back with a special seattle edition of "today." we are learning there are several animals that are native. >> welcome. >> thank you. >> we had a beaver last week in the studio, but this is a big beaver. >> and it's actually -- it smells cleaner than the other one. >> he takes care of himself. we take good care of our animals. this is buckley. he is a 12-year-old beaver. he's just about full size. he weighs about 40 pounds. you're welcome to give him a pet. >> no thanks. >> you sure? >> it's soft. >> you always see them in cartoons they chop down trees. is that true? >> it's true. they do chew down trees with their teeth.

welcome to the weekend and welcome to lots of sunshine across the south. it's going to be a beautiful weekend from louisville to atlanta down toward the beaches in florida. orlando, if you're heading to the theme parks, no weather worries here. we see a few showers across upstate new york, but it's going to be a morning event. more range in the pacific northwest from seattle to portland, kind of holding your temperatures down a little bit. 65 degrees in billings. 65 in chicago. it's going to be a warm one in dallas, 83 degrees. of course, we have the world series returning to arlington where we have the chance for showers and storms over the weekend. in fact, we have it for sunday, as well. mainly a morning event here. little rock, arkansas, a couple showers around the great lakes for sunday. looks fantastic from boston

towards savannah, georgia. a couple showers possible in extreme south florida. take a look at the temperatures. it's going to be warming up across the plains. 75 in k.c., 60 degrees in new york city. not too far off the average for this time of the year. but keeping it cool with the clouds around seattle with your temperatures in the mid 50s. cool enough for snow to mix in moving into montana and idaho. denver, enjoy that 78 degrees while you can. those temperatures are going to come crashing down tuesday into wednesday with the snow moving into the higher elevations. scattered showers moving across the great lakes and denver, 35 is all we can muster on thursday with a chance of snow across the rockies.
