good morning. black and blue, friday crowds hit the stores for the official start of the holiday shopping season. but fights, pepper spray and gunfire make it a violent day for door buster sgleeps craigslist killer, three bodies were found in ohio and police believe they're on a phony list. could there be more victims? and is kensington palace cursed? the tragedy that has some believing it may be.

it is saturday, november 26th, believing it may be. it is saturday, november 26th, 2011. captions paid for by nbc-universal television good morning, everyone. welcome to today on a saturday. i'm lester holt. >> and i'm amy robach. >> if william and kate don't have enough pressure, we're hearing that their home could be curse zmrd speculation has a history. kensington, palace, it's housed many members of the royal family. . it's also seen its share of tragedy and scandal. maybe sinister forces are at play. we'll talk more about what was a violent start to the holiday shopping season. as crowds hit the stores looking for deals. look at this -- there were several ugly incidents. at least twos incidents. and reports of gunfire.

tis the season. we'll have the story coming up. also new developments in the disappearance of an american woman in aruba, robyn gardner went missing in august after traveling with gary goor dan owe, the only suspect in the case. now, a judge has ruled he's free to leave the island. more on the ruling and when he could be heading back to u.s. coming up. >> a bit later, a real treat. i got to visit with debbie reynolds out in california. she has a vast collection of hollywood memorabilia. now, she's putting much of that collection up for auction. she showed me some of it. can you believe that she had a 17-inch waist. it was pretty remarkable. she had such a remarkable legendary body when you see some of costumes.

we want to start with what a violent start to the shopping season. nbc's kristen dahlgren has the latest. >> reporter: youtube pictures, the quest for door busters again turning dangerous. in california, police say that a woman pepper sprayed fellow walmart so that she could get an x box. 20 people were injured. at a walmart in northern california, one man is in critical condition after a shooting. apparently attempted robbery of his black friday bargain. one woman was hospitalized after another attempted robbing and shooting. while in oneida, new york, two women were taken away after a scuffle for a cell phone.

in a statement walmart said overall it's been a very event at the thousands of walmart stores. added they're always looking at how to do things better. pepper spray was used in north carolina walmart, this time by store security. in florence, alabama, police used a stun gun on unruly customers. leaving many wonder whether the battle for bar gains is worth the cost? for today, kristen dhlgren. here's amy. >> thank you. here with more on black friday and the rest of the holiday season shopping. we were trying to get over some of those pictures and what people put themselves through. speaking of the bargains, 152 million shoppers were expected to hit the stores this weekend.

>> we think that's more than last year. 138 million was the estimate last year. we're looking for a holiday shopping season, about 3%, 2.7% above where it was last year. not great. but certainly in the right direction. >> we saw retailers like walmart, opening their stores even earlier. they're hitting the advertisements heavy. do these tactics work with some of the tactics they use? >> we get the actual data tomorrow morning on how black friday did. the early indications is that the malls were relative lly ful. the parking lots were full. just so you know, companies out there that use satellite photographs to see how full the parking lots are, to get a gauge of how shopping was. there's a nuclear arms race going, they started 6:00, 5:00 and finally the night before. >> people are looking for the

b bargains, how well equipped are consumers to spend this holiday season. >> this is an interesting time for the consumer. the good news, there's a 1 million fewer unemployed. it's 9%. at the same time, the consumer is carrying a good amount of debt, a good amount of mortgage debt and the consumer is trying to get his/her wallet, balance sheet into some kind of decent shape. the desire to buy gifts for your family and friend. there's that tension that goes on this year. they're willing to go into debt to buy goods and how far they want to stretch them. >> you mentioned the unemployment rate, how much of these seasonal jobs, how could this help the unemployment rate? >> lot has to do with the confidence of the retailer that's doing the hiring. typically you do see, when we're

in a recovery, you see some of these retail jobs become permanent. there's some possibility that more of these jobs become permanent. from the outset, they begin as a huge mass of temporary jobs and some of them stay on. >> we should mention, we got cyber monday coming up. what does better? >> black friday is a bigger retail day online than cyber monday. cyber monday is continuing to grow. 10% to 20%. people are not only do more and more shopping online, when you go into the stores, people are using mobile devices to check online prices and competitors' prices. it's a hypercompetitive world. >> steve liesman, thank you.

>> just stampede your children to get to the computer on monday. a check on the morning's other headlines. >> good morning lester and amy. good morning, everyone. we begin in pakistan where officials say many of their soldiers have been killed in a nato air attack. >> good morning, according to pakistani officials at least 26 of their troops have been killed and 11 injured in what they are referring to a cross-border attack. about 1 1/2 miles from the afghan border. officials here in afghanistan say they're still investing the exact location of where they were spotted by enemy fire. they insist any response was done through coordination of the pakistani military and the border authorities. one thing is for sure, this will

not help the growing tensions between the pakistani military and nato forces. they have shut down a nato supply route that leads into afghanistan in response to this attack. the three american students arrested during demonstrations in cairo are on their way back home. we have an update on the students and the ongoing unrest in tahrir square. >> good morning. three american students according to egyptian officials have left cairo on their way back to the united states. they're flying through european destinations. some conflicts reports about which destinations they were going to, the officials have confirmed all of them. they left egypt early saturday morning. this coming on the backdrop on a lot of political unrest. the protesters behind me, very much encamped in tahrir square.

whether or not to see if the military is going to hand over any more power to the civilian government it's game on for the nba. 15 hours of the negotiations produced a tentative agreement to end the nba lockout. the deal reached earlier today, calls for a 66-game season beginning on christmas. that lockout began on july 1st. it's beginning to look a lot like christmas at the white house. the official christmas tree arrived on friday. it was pulled up to the house by a horse-drawn carriage. that's the new. now back to lester, amy and bill. not a bad-looking tree. >> it has to compete with the one behind us. >> bill karins has the weather. >> many areas of the country

>> my take is that it will begin to sort itself out at the beginning of the year. you got to remember, that iowa is an organizational state. when you look at the polls on who's popular and who's not? it won't have the same application in south carolina. it's how you can organize on the ground. it's hard to know at this moment who's in the best position to do it. republicans haven't found a candidate that they're absolutely in love with it. >> let's talk about the environment in general. this supercommittee's failure to come up with budget cuts. is the failure em bracelet ic o a greater process. >> i have never known the political process to be as dysfunctional as it is now. republicans and democrats and ind pent dents. the last three weeks i have been in the southeast the northeast,

the midwest, the far west, and the southwest, and wherever i have gone, people have given up on the idea that they're going to get any help from washington. they're trying to do it on their main street, working together in some fashion. they don't know what the future holds in terms of getting the economy back where it needs to be. georgia, they would get back to prerecession levels before 2013. new reports saying they won't get back to those levels until 2015. >> we have been there before, you covered it in the '70s. there was watergate the oil embargo, inflation, soaring interest rates. we found our way. what's different with today than then in. >> there are a couple of differences. the senators are opposite side of the issues they would find a

way to get out of it. now they don't even talk to iech other. it's driven by big money and you can organize a jihad with a website very quickly and land on a candidate unless you see your point of view exactly when it comes to taxes or entitle ltmentes. everybody's paralyzed and they retreat to the far corners. >> in this book, you talked about, you asked the essential question, will our children be able to surpass what we accomplished? >> the question always suggested. my kids live better than i do. there's a finite capacity for all of that. we need to focus on how we fix the educational system. so everybody has an opportunity in the global economy. the that's one example. how do we reintroduce the idea

of value. >> we have a negative savings rate in this country. we have to save some money out of every paycheck so we don't become hostage to foreign pow s powers. less than 1% take 100% of these bullets in afghanistan and iraq. a lot of the young people are looking for something to do. i suggest six public academies. partnerships, john deere fellow in agriculture, the donald trump fellow in hair design. they go off and they work around the world. they work in this country as well for three years in the private/public sector. i think it lifts the young people, it also gives us an unz pinning in our country for

good saturday morning, looking live at the golden gate bridge, still an hour before the sun is up but it is a cool start to this morning and a little foggy, too. thanks for cloing us. we have a look at the weekend forecast, a couple of people traveling in and out of town. >> the north bay and east bay are seeing some fog. 37 in fairfield, 52 in oakland. less than a mile in concord. santa rosa and novato visibilities to a quarter mile. fog set up in the north bay

valleys, also fog drifting into the east out of the sacramento valley. we're watching low clouds this morning, high clouds this afternoon. high pressure will take the rain off to the north as we head through the afternoon so fog in the north bay and east bay valleys. temperatures inland noon should stay cool. we should get to the 60s san jose, fairfield the coolest spot. seven-day forecast, dry finish to the weekend and temperatures climbing inland monday into tuesday. in just about 90 minutes, nasa is launching the world's largest extra terrestrial explorer, a six-wheeled one-armed mars rover is expected to blast off from kennedy space center in florida at 7:02 pacific time this morning. that will take eight and a half months for the atlas 5 rocket to arrive on the red planet.

the rover on the rocket is called "curiosity" and is about the size of a car. the mobile laboratory will carry ten scientific instruments that will sample martian soil and rock and analyze them right there on thesaur fas. also on board the rover is a drill and stone-zapping laser machine and another one that detects methane in the atmosphere. the rover is the most ambitious and complex robotic rover ever built to explore the red planet. the mission will help nasa determine how it can one day send astronauts to mars. the nation's economic doldrums affect all businesses big and small and that's why san jose and san francisco are two cities doing what they can to help keep small businesses in the black. today is small business saturday in both cities. two months ago san jose launched its shop san jose program designed to show people the importance about purchasing goods and services in their own communities. the city is also encouraging

businesses to use social media to capture some of the nearly $2 billion in sales that are spent by san jose residents in other cities, and later today in san francisco, the north beach business association will hold an event at the corpser of grant and vallejo streets designed to promote small business there is and some bimss are offering discounts. check around in your local neighborhood to see what your businesses are doing. coming up on "today in the bay" occupy protesters try to block a san francisco black friday tradition but the shoppers fought back. we'll talk about that story coming up at 7:00. more local news in 30 minutes.

but for me, one item stood out as perhaps the creepiest. >> i have something to show you. this is no ordinary car. this is the vw bug owned by infamous serial killer ted bundy. this is where he lured his victims into his car. he took out the front seat and this is where they ended up. the ted bundy car, an important piece of evidence against him now on display at a museum where a touch of evil is everywhere. >> is it wrong that i have chills right now just looking at that car? >> no, no. one word, creepy. >> it was creepy, but it was fascinating. and a lot of kids come through, kids' tours because it's interesting. >> but i think you would have to prepare kids for that or even still yourself for what you're about to see. >> and they learn about the psychological issues that a lot of these killer ves dealt with. so there is an educational aspect to it, too. >> you looked a little too comfortable with that gun.

most of the bay area this morning. you can see some 30s and 40s for inland valleys with patchy fog really setting up in the north bay. you could see some of that, quarter mile visibility, slight offshore breeze pumping in fog from the central valley this morning, that's why i think towards solano county or the northern half of contra costa county, hazy sunshine, upper 50s to low 60s for highs. mid-60s santa cruz and san jose a nice day today and more morning fog as we wrap up the weekend. ohio in ohio, another body which could bring the death toll to three from a clag s craigsli. we get details from cnbc's john yang. >> reporter: authorities discovered the body in akron, ohio, may be that of a man that

answered the same craigslist ad as another man 90 miles away. 47-year-old kim thee kern of massillon, ohio, hasn't been seen in more than a week when he told relatives he was answering a help wanted ad for a farm hand, the same posting that david polley answered. polley's body was found last week. and later friday, authorities said they had found yet another body near where paulie's body was found. when polley's body was found, police say there could be more victims. >> we're talking about 600, 700, maybe even 1,000 acres down there where there is no houses. so, you know, i can't sit here and definitively say there is no other bodies down there. but at this point, we don't know of any others. >> it appears there is a strong possibility these three murders are linked and, therefore, it could be a serial killer or a serial killers working together.

>> reporter: and the story gets even more twisted. a juvenile has been charged with trying to kill still another man who answered the ad, but escaped after being shot in the arm. courts say the youth assisted jay beisley, 52, of akron being held on completely unrelated charges. authorities are trying to check on others who may have responded to the same ad. >> the question is not necessarily are they responsible for the three victims we know 06, but how many other victims out there need to be identified? >> reporter: in 2009, phillip markoff was charged with killing a woman he met through craigslist. he later killed himself before trial. coming up on "today," scams of the season. find out how to protect yourself from the scams that creep in during the holiday seasons. plus, is there a curse on william and kate's palace?

today's consumer holiday season comes. over the next six months, consumers will spend about $45 billion. retailers are looking to cash in, but so are criminal spammers and scammers. good morning, latoya. >> good morning. >> tis the season because they know we're looking to spend money online and this is when we need to be most careful, correct? >> absolutely. $465 billion, that's quite a bit of money in a short window. scammers are looking to take advantage because they know we're out there spending those dollars. >> i've had to double read e-mails a couple times because i'm thinking it's american express contacting me or my bank contacting me. these are phony ads and offers

called phishing. what do people need to look out for? >> phishing is anything that asks you to turn over your information, usually in a short period of time. one example is something we're seeing on social networking sites, for instance. facebook, there's a scam called click jacking. so you click to like something and that link is posted on all of your friends' wall. there's another one we've seen, scam posts on facebook. there's one that said post this link to your page for a chance to win two free airline tickets. when you click that link or if your friends click that link, you're taking to a fake site where you hand over all of that information. we are all accustom to getting your e-mail reservations saying it's been confirmed. there's one fake e-mail that comes to your inbox, says there's a problem with your reservation, fill out this and send it in.

>> how do you handle that? >> on facebook, go into your privacy settings, check your apps and you can see who has access to your page and who is posting on your behalf. if you get that e-mail, don't download it because it could download a virus from your computer. >> let's talk about what could happen on your mobile device, as well. smartphones, ipads, a lot of people look up product information with those bar codes. what's the problem with that potentially? >> those are qr codes. we're seeing them around stores quite a bit. when you're in the score and you skam scan them, it takes you to coupons or a video or web page. >> comparison shopping. >> absolutely. if you scan a fake one, it could download an app to your phone that sends expensive texts to your app. you won't know that until you get your bill. and what is smishing?

>> that is if you get a text message saying your bank account has been deactivated. call this number to discuss your account. when you call that, it's a voice mail message that says, again, your account has been compromised. >> i know you don't give your information out to nnls. is there any way to report it? >> absolutely. if you send an e-mail to spam at uce.gov. they actually track those. if something sounds too good to be true, it actually is. if you're shopping online, you want to check to be sure you're at a secure site. you can see that. in the url line, it will say https. >> thank you so much, latoya. >> thank you, amy. coming up next, is

to take time for the clouds to break up. we're also watching high clouds coming from the west that looks imposing on the satellite but it's going to run into high pressure, high clouds will spill over on top of it but we're not really expecting any rain in the forecast so fog sticking around for some of those north and east bay valleys, lunch time highs today getting into the mid-60s, away from the fog like around santa cruz and san jose, upper 50s to near 60s by fairfield. seven-day forecast continues, the trend for sunday, dry weather taking us through the seven-day forecast. >> thank you very much, rob. in concord police are investigating the death of a child. the police department received report of a possible child death at a home at the corner of elkwood and linwood drive. when they arrived on scene they confirmed the death but are not releasing any information about the cause of the child's death right now or who that child is. a bay area marine killed during combat operations in afghanistan will be remembered this weekend. the 19-year-old was killed last

week. the funeral for marine corps lance corporal joshua "chachi" corral will be held. tomorrow evening sandra moan valley high school where joshua graduated last yooer will have a public tribute at the school's football stadium and on monday the warriors watch rider also escort the family and the hearse back from travis air force base. the fam i will have a young man who was killed when he was hit by a train, the family is being held. he was wearing head phones and did not hear the train approaching from behind. cisneros was a senior at a school and worked at a restaurant. the restaurant is holding two fund-raisers to help the family pay for his funeral.

>> this is crazy. somebody pepper sprayed a crowd. 20 people sprayed by a fellow shopper. there was a fight that broke out elsewhere over a $30 cell phone. at least two people robbed of the items they bought. we're going to have more on these incidents plus how the rest of black friday went for shoppers and retailers. >> i hope they get black coal in their stocks. plus, new developments in aruba where a judge has set free the only suspect in a disappearing woman. gary gee or dan know could be headed back to the u.s. as early as tuesday. then we're going to walk down hollywood's memory lane with debbie reynolds, a hollywood legend. >> i love how we coordinated our

outfits. we're looking forward to showing you her amazing collection. but first, let's get more of the morning's headlines from darlene rodriguez at the news desk for us. >> good morning, amy. good morning, lester. millions of americans will be out shopping again today after a black friday that turned ugly at many stores across the country. john yang is outside macy's in new york's herald square. >> good morning. nothing like the scene yesterday, but still 152 million american res expected to hit the stores and shopping malls this weekend. that's a record, that would be a record up about 10% from last year. the early numbers, very early splim numbers suggest yesterday's stores did about $27 billion in sales. that's up about 8% from last year. mostly orderly across the country, although there were some sporadic scenes of violence in san leandro, california.

a shopper was left in critical condition after he was shot in an attempted robbery. he was approached by a robber and wouldn't give up his purchases and he's in critical but stable condition. and in los angeles, at a walmart, a woman tried to get the upper hand in a scramble for some electronic goods by using pepper spray. most other shoppers, though, used more conventional ways to get their goods. darlene. >> john, thank you very much. all three american students arrested during a protest in cairo are heading home. they caught flights out of egypt early today, three days after an egyptian court ordered their release. the young men had been studying at university in cairo. they deny being involved in the protests. the nba has reached a deal in the lockout. there will be a 66-game beginning on christmas if both sides can ratify the agreement

with a handshake by the end of the weekend. and the sexual abuse allegation of syracuse university widened friday to his home. he's alleged to have sexually abused two ball boys beginning in the 1980s. he denies the allegations, but he is on administrative leave. federal officials are investigating the safety of the lithium icon battery in the chevy volt. and finally, when santa claus comes to chicago, he rides the train. each year, the chicago transit authority turns one car into a holiday train. there are festive lights, holiday music, and best of all, santa is there to greet people. not a bad way to get home. that is the news. now out to amy on the plaza. >> thanks so much. let's get another check of the weather with bill karins. >> today is a very difficult day for south carolina. the university of south carolina

morning. look at the 30s, napa, fairfield and concord chilly, also looking at patchy fog, visibility at a mile around concord and a quarter mile into the north bay as the slight offshore breezes pump in some fog from the central valley and also radiation fog in the north bay valley this is morning. the places seeing the fog are going to see the coolest temperatures moving into the afternoon, low 60s to upper 50s around fairfield. mid-60s closer to san jose and get ready for the same tomorrow with more morning fog. national forecast. lester, back to you. >> bill, thanks. now to a surprising development in the disappearance of american robyn gardner in aru aruba. gary gee iordano, the only susp in this case is free to go. a move that could have him back in the states within days. nbc's lily luciano has the story. >> he cried. it's the try of an innocent man finally being released. >> reporter: the ruling came as a shock, both to prosecution and

defense. gary giordano held for nearly four months in the disappearance of american robyn gardner in aruba walks as early as tuesday. aruban law allows for the suspect of a crime to be held for 30 days without a charge. that's been extended several times in the investigation. but without enough evidence to charge giordano, prosecutors ran out of time. >> i said we are determined to come to a conclusion, to find out the truth in this case and that will continue. we have still a lot of things to investigate. >> giordano, seen in the surveillance tape with gardener on his day of her disappearance claims they went snorkeling together. when currents got strong, he signaled for her to swim back to the beach. but by the time he got back to shore, he lost sight of her for good. he attempted to flee the island

just three days after she went missing. with his potential release, prosecutors fear he may be a flight risk but they say this new ruling doesn't mean the case is over. prosecutors have now filed an appeal to gee giordano behind bars while they continue their search for clues. it must be approved by a three-judge panel by tuesday, or else gary giordano walks free, free to return home while the disappearance of robyn gardner remains a mystery. >> here is more insight is attorney karen stow. good morning. >> good morning, lester. >> the prosecution is continuing to investigate, but is there any evidence that a crime was committed? >> there's a gut feeling. deja vu with the natalie holloway case here. prosecutors have a gut feeling and that's based on witness testimony, the fact that there was a $1.5 million insurance policy that he took out for this vacation insurance in case

something happened to miss gardner during this vacation period. so there's a lot of information that makes us question whether or not it was him and whether or not this was just an accident. he's maintaining that she was swept out to sea. obviously, there's a lot of information here that says that that's not what happened, that possibly she was, in fact, murdered. >> but this decision to allow his release is based upon the fact that there hasn't been any new evidence in the case. so is this appeal going to -- when the judge looks at this appeal, are they going to say, well, where is your new evidence? >> i think that's what he's saying now. he's been held for over 100 days now. if there was any new witness testimony or anything new in the investigation, they could extend that. the fbi back in maryland did do a sweep of his home, so if there is any new evidence, they can rearrest him and have him extradited. >> you mentioned the natalee

holloway case. is that what's driving this here? is there a sense that there was embarrassment for authorities? are they making sure the suspect doesn't get out of their reach? >> not so much an embarrassment, but yes, van der sloot was arrested on another murder. but their main source of income over there is tourism. how are you going to have tourism, lester, when no one is going to want to go over there thinking i'm going to go over there and get murdered. every mother in the world if their daughter says i'm going to aruba has a nervous breakdown. tremendous amount of pressure to try and resolve this so their industry is not affected. >> and you mentioned extradition. is that an easy process or would they have to have solid evidence before the u.s. would hand him over? >> it's not an easy process. obviously you try as a prosecutor and a former prosecutor you hope that they waive it. but even with van der sloot, he was in the netherlands when he

s good morning to you. looking live at a pretty picture of san rafael, a little bit of fog there in the distance, but rob says that low cloud cover is not going to bring any rain. i'm kris sanchez. thanks for joining us. rob, you say no rain? >> no rain but we have a lot of fog at least further north across the north bay toward santa rosa and novato seeing that this morning and it is a chilly start. some 30s and 40s around the north bay and east bay. there's visibility in miles, novato, santa rosa seeing visibility down to about a quarter mile and this is the time of the year where you have to watch winds that are slightly offshore, sometimes it can pump in some of that fog that is in the central valley and we're

seeing that precisely that this morning in the fairfield and concord. as we go through the weekend, the morning will be dealing with this fog but the afternoon will be pretty nice. hazy sunshine for san jose, south bay looking at highs in the mid-60s but closer to fairfield and livermore, upper 50s to low 60s. a dry seven-day forecast. morning fog tomorrow and things trending cooler and breezy approaching thursday and friday. >> all right, thank you very much, rob. in just about 30 minutes, nasa will launch the world's largest extra terrestrial explorer, sending it off to one of the most mysterious planets in the solar system, a six-wheeled one-armed mars rover is expected to blast off from the kennedy space center in florida at 7:02 our time this morning. it will take 8 1/2 months for the unmanned atlas 5 rocket to arrive on the red planet. that rover is nicknamed "curiosity" and is about the size of a car. the mobile laboratory will carry ten scientific instruments which

will sample martian soil and rocks, analyze them right there on the surface and also a drill and a stone zapping laser machine on board. another instrument will detect methane in the martian atmosphere. this rover is the most ambitious and most complex robotic rover ever built to explore the red planet. the mission will help nasa determine how it can one day send astronauts to mars. and the nation's economic doldrums clearly affect all businesses big and small, and that's why san jose and san francisco are two cities doing all they can to keep small businesses in the black. "today's small business saturday" in both of the cities. two months ago san jose launched its shop san jose program to educate people about the importance of purchasing goods and services in their own community. the city is also encouraging businesses to use social media to recapture some of that nearly $2 billion in sales that san jose residents spend in other cities and later today in san

definitely. this is something that we weren't exactly expecting when we signed up to do the series. we hoped that we would be able to make the entire saga happen, but -- >> for jest even the second one. because of the love of fans all around the world, it's become something a whole lot greater. >> and now this is the second to last of the twilight series. you guys made et very far in all of this. in this one, there's a wedding, a honeymoon, a pregnancy, a very interesting birth and someone becomes a vam fire. >> i think it's -- you know, when people ask why we split it

into two, i don't think that there was any other option. i mean, that book had to be split into two movies. i think in this particular case, fans will go and they'll feel like satiated. >> that it was true to the book, true to what they know? >> absolutely. >> and let's talk about the wedding to start with. it was very over the top. what was it like shooting that scene in the movie? >> it was beautiful. i mean, even without all the wedding decor, just the location alone was absolutely spectacular. and it felt very traditional and very edward coleny. >> and jackson, you're alice's mate. and i have to say, very impressed with the dancing skills. how long did it take to choreograph that? >> it went well. we had the amazing choreographer paul becker come in and show us the stance. i have some background. >> i was going to say, are you a dancer in background? >> i'm not.

i'm an actor. trust me. >> the relationship has been tense before. in this movie, would you say that your character was protecting bella or her child? because we saw some warmth but i was questioning whether or not it was towards bella. >> bill condin and i decided early on that rosealee is in the for the baby. she invests in bella as the story goes on, but that's what her -- >> as a vessel. >> as a vessel, yeah. >> really quickly, i want to get in, too, congratulations, you've just been married to paul mcdonald, former "american idol" star. how is marriage treating you? he's in the studio here. you can't miss that smile. >> i'm very lucky. jackson was actually involved in our honeymoon because we were on tour. it was the three of us. >> they were going out to romantic dinners. >> you were always invited.
