blown out of town. if you're driving over the bridges. be careful. now the same holds true for the venecia bay bridge and the san mateo bridge. their decision is not based on mileage per hour of the wind. that one is at 12:22 this morning. we just got numbers. in the south bay, 1,089 customers without power. in the east bay 335. in the peninsula, 85. san francisco, looking good with everyone having their power back

on. seeing the worst of it in the bay area. 24,008 customers without power. about 61,000 customers without power. that's the latest from richmond. jon and laura, back to you. >> thank you very much. thousands of people still don't have power this morning. high winds knocked out power for close to 30,000 customers throughout zap that cruise counties. streets and shopping centers left in the dark. this morning they canceled classes because there's no electricity. >> signs are blown down. normally in the weintertime we get a day or two.

>> planes had to be rerouted. the damage across the state is expected to be in the millions. 4:34. park rangers say it's too early to tell whether a body found in the river is a group of hikers swept over a waterfall back in july. of the three people who went over the fall, only the remains of david have been identified. david and two others climbed over the guardrail before slipping into the river and down the fall. the official search was called off last month. now to an update on a story we broke with bay area news. police say she shot foster on

november 10th. police say they beat her. video led to the arrest of three men and eventually the suspected shooter. the occupy sf movement is showing signs of division on whether to accept the city's offer to move away from the plaza and into an abandoned school. police clashed with protesters when they refused to leave at noon. police arrested two people at the encampment. one officer is receiving treatment for a hand injury suffered during the clashes. a former sftd lab technician accused of stealing cocaine faces a federal indictment. 61-year-old deborah madden is named in the indictment. the woman allegedly skimmed cocaine from the city's police department during a three-month

period back in 2009. this follows a state effort that failed to gather sufficient evidence to charge madden with any any crime. a routine trip to the grocery store turned to a possible hate crime. a 32-year-old man says he was leaving a supermarket in san jose when he was assaulted by a group of men. they beat him, hitting him with a tequila bottle, hit hill and called him a terrorist no arrests have been made at this time. they called off a fiscal emergency in the city. the city counsel was scheduled to vote on whether to declare an

energy to deal with an $80 million deficit. a new pension cost projection is expected to cut that deficit by more than half. the pension will go down, rather than rising, as the city predicted. it gives them more time to deal with the problem. >> all the wind advisories, maning sustained winds speeds have decreased. so they've allowed all the wind advisories to expire. gusty hills. 15 to 30 miles per hour. that's what we can expect for the nec few hours.

workers earning minimum wage will soon have more change in their pocket. that's up 3.2% from the current rate. any employee who works two hours a week or on any property will be covered by the wage increase. san francisco is one of the three u.s. cities with the very own minimum wage. new unemployment numbers come out today. experts predict it will stay

flat. that is good news. economists are worried about what would happen if congress does not extend unemployment benefits to end the year's tax cut. economists say if congress does not extent unemployment benefits, economic growth could be cut in half. we could lose up to a million jobs next year. wall street is awaiting the jobless numbers. for more on that, let's turn it to jackie deangeles. >> good norng to you. the futures are sharply higher as investors are awaiting that big economic data of the day. it's expected to show companies increased hiring in november, but not fast enough to bring the unemployment rate down. forecasters are calling for 125,000 jobs versus the 80,000

we saw in october. unemployment is holding steady at 9% for the second strait month. yesterday stocks closed mixed. we saw the dough dip 25 points to close at 12,020. the nasdaq rising six points. the threat of a rail strike has been averted. operators have reached a tentative contract agreement with two big unions. a third union, the last of the 13 without a labor deal is extending talks by two months. they have to reach an agreement before a federal cooling off period. and it could cost $2 billion a day during the height of the holiday shopping season. and honda is recalling about 304,000 vehicles worldwide f. the air bags may inflate with too much air.

take a look at what we ended up with. mount diablo hit 77 miles per hour at one poin. livermore with 47 miles per hour wind gusts. very unusual. because it was a long term wind event this is over 24 hours. downed trees and power lines went out as well. what you can expect throughout the day, the wind will calm down throughout the mid-morning hours as the trough comes in. you get less friction, pressure down. that's what you think of. pressure down. altitude up. that's why the winds really whip around through the mountain passes. an the same situation with the waters. it is nice and flat, where as the winds move over the drainer, it will be down. watch out for a few high gusts over the open water bridge this

drivers. how about this one? a staged robbery scene was mistaken for a real life crime in san francisco. police say a passer by called # 11 to report a masked gunman in the store. he was pointing the gun at the ceiling. police rushed in, tackled him and discovered the gun was fake. the film crew had the store's permission to film, but they failed to apply for a permit. nobody was hurt and no arrests were made. >> they're lucky they didn't get taken down. >> 4:55. time to check the morning commut commute. >> we're looking at a live shot past the coliseum.
