daughter in san jose's gilroy neighborhood. people are just stunned by it all. she was not home when her mother was killed. in fact, she hasn't been home for a couple of weeks. she's from somalia and moved to the u.s. more than 15 years ago. the big question remains this morning, is motive. why would anybody kill 65-year-old yvonne kirk. she is due in court here at 1:45 today. i'm marla tellez. jon and laura. it's 4:33. four men are behind bars in the south bay suspected of downloading and trading child pornography online. nbc bay area obtained exclusive video of the sting by the

internet crimes against children task force. undercover officers raided four homes in san jose. they used a new mobile forensic lab to allow them to instantly stour their hard drive. >> it would sit in the lab before we had the opportunity to search them. then when would get a search warrant or arrest warrant. >> it's one of the things you have to deal with. this morning family and friends are holding a memorial in oakland. a funeral service will be held tomorrow at st. elizabeth catholic church. and a fund to help the family with funeral payments has been

set up at wells fargo. a san francisco man accused of the posing as a doctor to perform plastic surgery faces new charges. a woman claimed carlos guzman garza charged her thousands of the dollars to treat a skin condition. he's accused of inprotoly touching the woman. he was arrested in december for performing lyposuction. in that case the woman claims he operated on her while smoking a cigar. a 90-year-old man is in custody after he took matters into his own hands. both men were hurt. the tenant saw the suspect driving away and called 911. both the suspect and the victim are being treated at the hospital. to word on their conditions. an oakland shopping district

looking to trade parking spaces for park. now they have a pilot program. and they are looking to bring new life to the shopping district. the village association is preparing an application to trade one or two parking spots for a small park ch customers who say parking is already tough, they have mixed reactions. >> i don't see taking up parking spaces to do it. i don't think it's that good of an idea. >> i parked four blocks away so i don't have to put money in the meters. >> they'll have to be put somewhere else near or the village association will have to pay the city $14,000 a year to cover the lost revenue. it's interesting how much they make. members are banking on moving them to make way for more space. san jose city leaders arguing over pension reform. but now they're talking about cutting their own retirement

packages. mayor chuck reid and city council members have agreed to consider terminated their own pension plans. the cost of the funding for city employee pensions has more than tripled in the past ten years. turning to decision 2012. presidential candidates have shifted from iowa to new hampshire. analysts are not predicting a repeat of the close race in iowa. romney is polling more than 20 points ahead. it's almost the perfect scenario for the former massachusetts governor. >> the next big primaries to watch for will be south carolina and florida.

if romney bins in new hampshire, he will be tough to beat. while the campaign continues, some latino lawmakers in california are criticizing romney's stance on the california dream act. he said he would veto the path if the legislation is passed by congress. student republicans say romney's stance doesn't mean he'll lose votes. >> he has plenty of time. i don't think it's a deal breaker. i don't think it's a guarantee for obama. >> under the dream act. undocumented students in the state are eligible for privately funded scholarships and a year from now public funding will be made available to the students. we are happy to ror we are getting that nice warm wave starting out 2012. christina loren is here to tell

we get data on um employment and the services sector. the dow up to 12,418. the nation retailers say total sales are expected to rise more than 3%. stores benefitting from earlier and extended hours, layaway programs, discounts and positive consumer sentiment. macy's, president obama is looking to boost the summer jobs prospect for the nation's teenagers. the white house has commitments for 180,000 youth opportunity this is year with help from the private sector. full details will be announced later today. we'll find out more details about the unemployment rate and how many jobs were created tomorrow. the private sector report doms out in about 45 minutes.
