new this morning, one of those good news/bad news job reports just released by the labor department. "today in the bay's" tracie potts is here to break down all the numbers. tracie, good morning. >> good news and bad news in this one. the good news is, the unemployment rate went down just a tiny bit from 8.3% to 8.2%. but the bad news, and it's pretty big, there were only 120,000 new jobs created.

now, while that might sound like a lot, it's half the growth that we saw in february. it's the first time since october that we've seen that low of an amount. we've been on a roll for several months, 200,000 and over. and it's also significantly less than the economists had predicted. so there was a clear slow down in march and today you'll hear all the economists trying to figure out exactly why that was. some say weather had a lot to do with it. others say retail jobs from the month before. tended to slow down. but the bottom line, good news/bad news, smaller unemployment rate, but fewer jobs too. >> tracie potts, thank you very much. it is 6:22 right now. coming up, 15 minutes of uninterrupted news, including pennsylvania having no love for the home state nkcandidate. the lnnd o t the republican race for president just ahead. -dad, why are you getting that? -that's my cereal. is there a prize in there?
