4:38 am
it ended up being a lovely sunday afternoon. good morning, christina. >> good morning. that same system they're talking about is the system that brought all the lightning to the bay area. so it actually intensified crossing over the rockies as we typically see. now, for us, we've got quite a pattern shift to look forward to this week. temperatures are starting out mild, they will stay mild. take a look at where we are right now. 50s in places like oakland and san francisco. 51 degrees here, we're at 48, good morning to you down in san jose, and we're headed towards a really, really good-looking day. temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 60s by noon today. rounding out in the 70s, right by the water, santa cruz, 68 degrees, great day to hit the beach. and you can work on your tan every single day this week. haven't had an opportunity to do so this spring. 64 degrees in san francisco, 69 in oakland, and things start to change. the jet stream stays to our north, however, an area of low pressure is going to cross into the pacific northwest.
4:39 am

4:48 am
this week. nothing tells the story better than that seven-day outlook. stick around for that. but right now, really kind of a sweet start on a monday morning. 51 degrees in oakland. you can go straight to the sweater. no need for that heavy coat this morning and you can forget about the umbrella just about all week long except, yeah, we've got one caveat. a little system of low pressure might bring some showers to the north bay tuesday and wednesday. but otherwise, we're looking mostly dry, sunny, and warm this week. in fact, wait until you see midweek towards this weekend. i've bumped your temperatures up to 85 degrees inland. so it's going to get very warm around here very quickly. 59 degrees by noon today in san mateo, 63 degrees in palo alto and rounding out the day with plenty of 70s. 70 in fremont and a comfortable 73 degrees in san jose. high pressure taking that jet stream to the north. what's going to happen is this little area of low pressure is going to cross to our north, but going to drag a weak cold front along with it.
4:49 am
the tail end of that front could bypass areas, especially north of marin county. but i think we might see a few stray showers sneak into sonoma as we head through tuesday and wednesday. that chance is very slight up to about 30% and a better chance for that on tuesday than wednesday. look at where your temperatures head between thursday and friday. up to 84 degrees inland, 75 in san francisco and 70 degrees in pacifica. so great beach days as we head into this upcoming weekend. a gorgeous weekend. warmer than the one we came off of. >> sounds lovely. >> indeed it does. with every organ transplant, there's heartbreak for one family and hope for another one. >> this weekend, a san jose man was able to meet the family of a donor who gave him a heart and saved his life. terrence shaw was diagnosed with cardio myopathy nine years ago, but last year he received a transplant.

4:55 am
a decision on surgery. this is wilson's second elbow procedure. >> at least he's keeping a positive outlook. the giants opening weekend at home snapping a three-game winning streak. making a season debut against his old team, that being the pirates. he allows two runs. didn't get much help from the giants' offense. the giants take on the phillies tonight at at&t. the a's on the road for the last meeting with the mariners until june. holding off any scoring until the fifth inning. two on for eric sogard. we're tied at three. but that was about it for the a's. well, yeah. mariners going to win this one 5-3 as the a's out on the road again tonight battling the angels. >> you know somebody who has been on the road a little while? mike. >> thank you, great break we had last week. we're going to cut folks a break
